Doc goes to Turkiye

Try a hot water bottle, (or a wheat pillow if you can use your microwave) on the affected area. ( try explaining that to a Chinese/Greek :whistle2: )

It's the sudden spasms that are the worst I can be sitting still not moving neck is fine then suddenly it's like I'm being electrocuted neck just spasms and I cant move ...it's excruciating. Never had this before , few frozen shoulders etc but this is like I'd imagine whiplash to be .

You need to visit a Doctor Tam, that does not sound good.

Never good to be in pain but glass half full, at least you had the Dutch on hand if you had collapsed...

Something that does cross my mind quite frequently is being a solo what happens if I have an emergency, like falling down the stairs.

No stairs in my motor home thankfully

Your sister is wise. I expect she also told you that co-codamol contains paracetamol as well as codeine so you can take it instead of the paracetamol but not as well as. Just thought I’d give you a reminder though. We don’t want you getting liver failure.
Just to add to this Tam, be careful taking too much of anything containing codeine as it can 'bung you up' which wouldn't be good in the state you're in at present ... we'd be able to hear your screams in the UK!

Tam, use the hot water bottle* as it will certainly help, I recognise your symptoms as I've had it myself a few times. You'll likely have pulled your neck, it can be done very easily, I did mine once just turning my head to the side on a bus when I was 13! Painful didn't come into it ... I had to get off the bus and knock on the door of a house nearby and ask the lady to ring my Mum to come and get me as no way could I manage to get home myself on a bus. She turned up in a taxi and the journey home was excruciating. A hot water bottle and painkillers eventually helped and, although you won't want to do it, try gently massaging the area to help loosen it up, it will hurt but worth it.

*If your hot water bottle is knackered get hold of Milo and 'wrap' him round your neck instead ... like a nice furry scarf! :giggle:

Sounds like a trapped nerve, find your self a osteopath , he will get you sorted, sometimes in one session👍

Neck not so painful today but still stiff and difficult to turn fully to left.

Had real problems getting comfortable in bed last night did not matter which way I tried to lie it was sore ..had to support neck with my hand everytime I tried to move..eventually fell asleep and slept well , got up around 08.30 ....popped a couple of co codamol before it had a chance to get sore.
Looking in mirror I have a red patch where it's sore so I think it's inflamed....sore to touch but I'm still sure it's just muscular. Much easier to live with today so hopefully will heal on its own ..took a couple of ibuprofen with lunch around 1pm

I'm in misolongi now ... typically it's started raining again .

Going to head a little further south to a spot on a beach for tonight . Forecast for the week ahead doesn't look great, cant always trust the forecast but hey ho . We will see , I don't need tropics or sunshine everyday but I'd like it to be dry as no fun in rain with 4 dogs

Few pics from lunch stop by the lagoon

I had my arm in excruciating pain, to the point I was woken up by the pain. A pulled ligament and muscle lock, from repetitive movement. That is the hand I used to lift a pack of tiles at a time, on the roof. The pain kicked in couple of days after I finished the roof.
Physio therapist said Ibuprofen and ice pack. And he was right, then after his first visit, got a velcro pressure point band to push the tendon back.

If you have an inflammation, I think heat is the worst you can do, ice will numb it and slowly will release the muscle lock. Just a thought.

Well at his time of year you should be safe from mosquitos.

Byron was not so lucky.

Sorry Tam that you are not here in Spain, I'd love to get my thumbs into your sore bits...and if I couldn't sort you, I've got someone that can...
