Hello all

Back in 2020 when Boris lifted the gates and let us loose again, we went to Verteuil in France. At the local Leclerc there was a few cans of Stella Artois which soon went and did not get restocked. We thought it was the pandemic and thought no more of it. Since then we have been back to France and Spain and still no Stella in cans or bottles. It can thankfully be got from bars and restaurants.

Does anybody where is have all gone?

I think UK supermarkets have bought up all UK production and now buying up continental production, judging by the quantities in my local supermarket anyway

I bought most of it back a couple of weeks ago 😂

Kerow Cornish lager, much better than Stella which tastes as though it’s changed in the last 4 months🤪

Yes that was back in the wife beater days. I do find most of the other French beers/larger a bit to hopey. Stella is just an easy quaffing larger.

A mate of m8ne who is a brickey drives artics at the weekend as a way of switching off. He takes thousands of empty Stella cans from Wrexham to Cardiff and brings thousands of full one back. Some time ago it 2as brewed in Belgium then shipped across. It is now brewed in South Wales so the Belgian production should be going to Europe.

I am fed up of 1664 and Leife.

I once worked with a Belgian guy who told me that the Belgians ship Stella to the UK because they didn’t want it back home and preferred their craft beers instead.
No help to the op’s question mind 🤣

Leffe is surely a very very different beer to Stella!

It is. The village of Verteuil sur Charente (excellent 48 hrs free stopover) only has a few outlets for draught beer. The village only has 880 inhabitants, but 2 bars, 1 Bistro, I restaurant and 2 cafes, each serving draught larger. Stella, Leffe, Juliper and Grim something. At home with family Stella is the lubrication of choice but sadly lacking of late.

Stella is Belgian
However a weak facsimile is brewed in the UK by the megolith InBev.

Belgian Stella different to UK version, ours is more gassy. I actually like Stella from the Perfect Draught machine as it’s shipped in from Belgian rather than the gassy sh*te we have over here! Although I do also like many other continental Draught beers on the perfect Draught 😎

I used to frequent the German Guest houses when I was stationed there and drank some nice Pils type larger. I find none of the lager sold here very nice. It seems to be cold, fizzy and tasteless. I have gone back to a decent Bitter instead.

I also like Stella, 18 cans for £15 its a bargain! Squeeze half a fresh lime into it on really hot days like today and it doesn't touch the sides!(y)
I also like to buy a few large bottles of San Miguel, Estralla Damm, even Heineken or Stella in Aldi then I am happy for choice.

I also like real ales, especially the amber ones, so I get a few of those for good measure. Wheat Beers are great for a change, something to savour in a glass.(y)
I wish Guinness would bring back Hophouse 13, I liked that so much as it was a cross between a Lager and and an ale to my palate, really refreshing beer in a large bottle also.
Really hate all those American beers, they are so thin and weak, the draught Green Beers are the worst, couldn't wait to get home sometimes for a decent beer when we travelled a lot.
Cheers to all.:drinks:

My latest shipment from Beer Hawk included a keg of Stella unfiltered, put in by mistake as the Ukrainian lager I had ordered was missing, so as soon as I'm finished this Goose Island IPA, I'll have to give it a try as I do like the kegs of standard Stella.

Their beers start at about 8% so wife beater will be pish watta to them 😂

Used to be my favourite lager, when it was 5 or 6% now it's been weakened to about 4.5 or thereabouts it's nowhere near as nice.
For the UK & US Markets, buy it in Belgium or France and it’s still the higher ABV Plus it will be brewed in Leuven and not Wales.

Used to be tinnies of Tennents Larger but went off it when they stopped putting the dishy scantily clad burds on tins.!!🤣🤣🤣

The rumour used to be if the Stella tins were embossed ie raised writing on the tin it was from Belgium . No idea if true or not!

Buy Perfect Draught Stella Artois and it’s brewed by Stella in Belgium and it’s full strength 😋

Saltaire blonde for me!!

My favourite beer ATM is Elvis juice from brewdog. Nice in the hot weather as it has grapefruit juice in it but a bit high in abv.

If you want something with a kick try this.
Tis bloody awful
SWMBO bought at B&M thought the 10% was "EXTRA" free.....bless her
🍻😎
