Interesting that the Malibu Genius (luxury campervan of the the year) is already being discounted by ££££k!

We were bang on their target customer but were not that impressed in some regards when we looked at them in the Spring tbh.The bespoke rear end added a lot of cost for very little and goodness knows the cost and complexity of even a minor rear end shunt (they should have just used the bigger van perhaps adding a IH type boot lid). They also wanted £2k for a tv! The shower and pull out toilet was a bit of a faff plus you could feel that they had reduced the thickness of the seat padding it sits under to accommodate it.

I’ve heard a few won’t buy it as they can’t mount the spare wheel on the back doors🤷‍♂️🤔

£2000 for a television.
You can get a 100" oled for that and have change for a couple of quality set top recorders.
You’re forgetting it might say Carthago on it🤷‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

One of my customers just negotiated a massive discount on a top of the ladder Dethleffs..Offered him £5000 off and after a long while he secured £40,000.

I track a few LHD vehicles on Autotrader out of interest. I can cite two that have had a 12% reduction since first advertised earlier this year and one that has dropped 20%. Glad I kept my money in the bank and did not get tempted this Spring! I would love a shinny new toy but I try to keep repeating the mantra "Buyer's remorse! Buyers remorse!" There certainly would have been buckets of that by now had I bought one of the above in April 2025!!

We keep receiving Facebook ads offering thousands off of Carthagos , Malibu’s , Wildax etc, looks to be lots of over production in the market, shame about current owners residuals!

So glad I don't do Facebook!!

Only 5% nothing to get excited about.
There will be more I'm sure but pretty poor reflection on that particular vehicles as apparently the best.

Steering wheel on the wrong side

But when they are offering £20k + discounts you should worry about your trade in price. 😀
I am really not bothered. I have no plans to sell and if I were to move to a new(er) van my trade in reduction would be massively outweighed by the discounts currently on offer. Only if I give up motor-homing do I suffer any loss and I factored that in when making the decision to buy - expecting to lose a few £k. Now it would be just a couple of £k more.

Work and singing commitments limit my use. Pure logic would dictate that I should not own a van at all. So a carefully chosen reliable older van is less of a nonsense than something approaching £100k with annual outgoings over £2k sat on my drive doing nothing. Logically I would be better advised to stick with EasyJet, budget hotels and the occasional hire car! But that is not my choice.
