Put your left hand, if your right handed, under the spoon handle gripping the bottle.

hold the spoon in your right hand and lever against your thumb and bottle top.

I had a cheap imitation multi tool knife and tried to use the screwdriver, the multi tool fell apart in my hand. Didn’t know the real thing was also less than perfect. I have tried the table edge method and and can confirm it ruins the table.
