Just bought 2 of these. Not sure what they do or where they go but as a person who likes to prepare for the worse I thought they looked useful (and cheap!).

@Jim Any more thoughts on a rally for technical numpties??????

Sports Direct have a sale on both in store and online. I know they always seem to have a sale on but I just ordered "some stuff" that was half the price they were offering it a couple of weeks ago. :)

oh yes a meeting for me .. a real numpties meeting.

My newly acquired camper has 2 sliding glass windows - not the securest design in the world but not a problem - on a previous camper of similar design I used those little stick-on magnetic alarms and I have a box of them in my loft (somewhere!).

One glance through the loft hatch was enough - there has to be an easier way!

4 alarms £2.99, batteries included, free P&P, next day delivery - or 2 for £1.49.

So, somewhere in my loft the box of them remains :)

Our style satellite dish will only take a single LNB, otherwise we'd have one of these receivers. :(

Cheers,

Jock.

So does mine Jock but I have one of these
Can still record programs as long as you put it on the channel you want first
EPG and user menu is excellent

EDIT forgot to say it also allows you to pause the current program so you don't have to miss it while making a call

I ran a number of 12v instructional rallies but they were not very popular so I stopped, however I am prepared to teach on a one to one basis if anyone requires it (For Free), either at the summer rally or any other time the CL is open.

That's really good of you to offer that. We are touring Europe at the moment but will be in touch if we have plans to come up your way. Thanks. We certainly need the education!! (y)

Just picked up this collapsible trolley from B&M for £4.99, handy for the casette etc, plus it has rubber tyres so won't drown out the noise of generators whenn wheeling it over paviers (y)

12V compressor from Maplins on special at £14.99 with free delivery.
These are good, I burned out the Mercedes supplied compressor on my previous Rapido and it struggled to get the tyres up to the recommended 70psi anyway.
This Maplins compressor has no such problems - it will go up to 140psi apparently. Just run the engine while you're using it.
(I don't want to divert the thread with a discussion of what is the "right" tyre pressure, there are plenty of those threads already)

Although I have done lots of research into 12v electrics for the forthcoming update of my Renault trafic, and am decided on what I want in the new install, I remain fairly well bamboozled by what previous owners have done!

With a seemingly random selection of wires coming from the alternator and going to relays, disappearing into the bulkhead etc, it's hard for me to know quite where to start. I could well be booking into your site for a night or two quite soon :D

The simplest and indeed safest way to start is simply remove the whole lot.. Might seem daunting but it will be WAY easier than trying to suss out what a previous 'genius' has done !!

I bought this 1/4" set recently as I needed an extension bar to change an elderly car battery.
It's a great compact set, well manufactured and perfect for smaller jobs. Bargain for £25
