A few years.
Any one else doing this challenge?

The idea is to swim 22 miles - England to France - or if you are able back again. I'll be stopping in France.

I had not swum properly for over 10 years, messing about in the sea and pools with grand kids was about it. Not doing so bad up to this week, Easter Holidays has filled the pool making navigation a pain.

Am I the only one? Feeling a right Billy no Mates.

Diabetes UK have raised over £ 1/2 million so far in sponsorship from an army of mostly diabetic swimmers.

Clive - not doing the challenge but have bunged you a couple of quid.

After a long weekend I managed over 2 miles in one session this morning!

On top of that Diabetes UK has raised over £600,000 so far. Lets find a cure for this, for the children and while I'm at it for the World!

Many thanks to all the funsters who have made a donation to help Diabetes UK find a way to overcome this pain the butt.

Both my wife and I are diabetic, we are wise enough, ok old enough, to cope with the problems, and the medication. Diabetes UK are striving to find a way forward for children to live a normal life and perhaps even find a cure. That is what this fundraising is all about.

No problems nearly empty pool, head down and crack on. A fellow swimmer who has been there most days said they could not keep up with me today. Just over 6 miles to go, then rest.

Just 403 lengths left to do. I'll do as many as I can tomorrow, try and finish Wednesday and then a long weekend of R&R.

Thanks again for all your support.

Nearly there, over did it this morning, in pain now. A day of rest and a short paddle to the the end Wednesday, well that's the plan.

Completed today in a very busy pool. 22 miles in 13 swims within 18 hours equates to around 1.22 MPH (or nearly 2 KPH).

Many thanks to those who have supported me with nice comment, thumbs up and maybe a sponsorship also. Although my swim has stopped Diabetes UK will keep the Just Giving account active.

I'd give myself a pat on the back only my joints are all stiff!

Happy motorhome fun everyone.

See that Graham Souness is in training to swim the Channel. Reckons it's the hardest training he has ever done..Raising money for a rather unusual child's disease...BUSBY.
