On the ferry to Denmark now to Gedsner.
Could anyone recommend things not to miss.
We are touring Denmark for just over 2 weeks.

Try and follow parts of the Margeriten Route as part of your trip, it takes you past some great scenery and sights you might otherwise miss, plenty of info about it on the web.

Odense for H C Anderson, and old town on Funen, and Aarhus on Jylland for the old houses. Just travelling in Denmark will be a pleasure. I worked as a cowman in Sonderjylland nearly sixty years ago.

Don’t forget to pay the Skagen a visit there are some lovely spots up there Hirtshals has a nice camper stop and lots to see👍😊 enjoy it? We did😊👍

The Music Park in Aalborg. Each tree plays 3 excerpts from famous singers and bands that have performed at the concert hall. Ribe & Viborg are worth visiting too

Our previous visits to Denmark took in:

Faxe - first night camping and swimming in the Baltic.

Copenhagen - camped in the Charlottenlund Fort on the coast not far out from the centre. Plenty to do in the city and the boat trip around the harbour and canals from the Nyhavn is worthwhile. We also cycled out from the campsite via the Tivoli and the adjacent Jægersborg Dyrehave (ancient hunting park with many red and fallow deer), had lunch at the Raadvad Kro (Inn) at the NE exit from the park, headed up the coast and took in the exhibits at the Louisiana Art Museum, before hitting Helsingør, where we were staying overnight for the Shakespeare festival in the castle.

If you visit Helsingør I can recommend having a late lunch or a beer somewhere on the main street to watch the Swedes, in various stages of intoxication, heading back to the ferry terminal - it’s great street theatre.

The Danish ‘Lake District’ around Silkeborg and Ry is very scenic and has many campsites and most lakes have public swimming beaches with facilities including changing and showering.

On the Eastern Coast the ancient capital of Ribe has an untouched feel to it and a decent medieval centre - the evening walking tour with the ‘Night Watchman’, telling tales (in English) and singing is very atmospheric. Not far away the island of Mandø in the Wadden Sea is reached by a tidal causeway and worth a visit - top tip, pay attention to the tide times and don’t (as we did) think that all the other visitors have come by car and not the stonking great ‘sea tractor’! Otherwise be prepared for a wheel arch high drive back through the sea or a 12 hour overstay!

Have a good trip, it’s a great country to visit.

And of course Viking burial mounds , and stone ships
