Just had notification that our sailing at 12.45 tomorrow is cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday at 23.00 due to bad weather in the Bay. Now due to arrive Saturday 07.45. So what was a 25hr crossing will now be around 32hrs :(
Form an orderly queue to say "That's why we always drive down through France" :banghead:

You said it

Thanks for the "heads up" Pat, and sorry you've had the delay. Having had our Portsmouth/Santander crossing cancelled on 1st February, and driven to Spain from St Malo instead (through snow!), we're hoping for a straightforward return from Santander next Monday ......

Will keep a close eye on it :frowny:

Here we go again, watching with interest we are booked on the Bilbao crossing on the 4th March.

We are on the Santander one on the 4th - hopefully we both have a nice crossing. (y)

No offense Mike but hope I'm not on that one (n)
A couple of hours in Portsmouth is too long let alone waiting a week for the Bay to behave :getmecoat:

Problem is the high tides just now. This will be repeated again in 21 March when they will be even higher so perhaps it would be better to travel earlier/later or on the train (like us).

If it takes a week for the bay to settle down. I will be going by the train. (y):D

The Santander pourtsmout crossing for today is cancelled until 1500hrs on Wednesday 25th. The ship is been used as hotel until she sails .
Had a 2 day delay in January coming over and at least same again on return.
Wouldn't be so bad but the weather in northern Spain is cap at min with little prospect of improving...
Ta Andy.

It better improve by the 17th, last years crossing in Feb was horrendous.

Were going on saturday at 9.30 crossing first time on this one and hoping no delays or bad weather-whats the chances and is anyone else on same boat?

If that is the Bilbao sailing it is cancelled, check out Britanny Ferries website "Sailing updates"

Oh Stewart - not again!!!! Fingers crossed that Amorique will be fine - it's the one we crossed in from Portsmouth to St Malo with you, nearly a month ago. Safe travels.

Certainly remember our first trip to Spain It's been quite an experience. Hope your crossing is OK Helen there seems to be a backlog of delays at the mo ;-)

They will sail when they have a full ship. Been there, done that. Sailed in worse weather than when it was cancelled.

I think that's good news, Portland - as we've been told the Monday crossing from Santander is full! Received an email from BF advising of a 2 hour delay to departure time, hope it stays like that.

Meanwhile we're spending time (and a few drinkies) with the legendary Tinca Taylor's at Burgos

Lovely to have the Roxie crew (Jerry & Helen) over to our van last night for drinks and chat. We are now off to find a supermarket to top up supplies of falling down water, really looking forward to the ferry crossing with these two........................:):):):)

Did you manage to sail today?

In my career in the Merchant Navy it was always said wherever in the world you'll always find a Scotsman, a Geordie or a Scouser, seems wherever in Spain theres always a Funster nearby ;-) Brilliant and the best value for money in subs out there!
