I know so few of you have been travelling abroad this summer but now the quarantine rules have been relaxed there'll be a few ' frenchies' like us who'll be popping back to Blighty to visit family..

So how does everybody go about this test, by post, in person at a lab ??? It seems it has to be prebooked before you can fill in your mandatory pre departure contact form.

Any help will be gratefully received

Wendy

We are doing ours today. £35 each. They have already sent it to us. We then test ourselves then post it to them. They give us the results.
We used the cheapest company we could find as we don’t care if they work or not as it’s a pointless test.
You're 100% correct, no one checks at all as to whether the test is actually done and submitted, therefore choose the cheapest option purely to have a reference number to put on the form. Whether or not you actually do the test is irrelevant as its not checked.

in fact, the government guidance says you must pre book and pay for a day 2 test but I don't think it states anywhere that you must take the test

I used that company £7.99 delivery for day2 and 8. No intention of using them, will take them with us next trip so we don’t get ripped off again

They say £29 and next day tracked delivery FREE.
Can‘t see anything about £7.99 charge.

I assume thats because they are pcr tests so more postage. They send to you, you then send back to them. Unlike the £29 where they just send to you.
For day 2 and 8 we used expert medical as they were cheaper

Ahh. I get you now.

You are saying that Expert medical is plus postage which I agree with so is £70 plus postage for the 2&8 day. Where C19 is free postage, and that is what I was talking about. They are £29 inc postage for out test but £180 for 2&8 tests including postage.
Thats why we went with C19 for out test, and Expert for 2&8.

Sorry was a misunderstanding.

How do you know there is no check? You enter the test ref no on your PLF so it's in the realms of possibility that the result e.mailed to you could be also e.mailed to Track and trace. When they rang us whilst in quarantine they knew which days we were to submit our tests. They rang us both separately every day. BUSBY.

showing as £28 for day 2 now:dance2:

<Broken link removed>
Yes. If single test, so just day 2 it’s £28 plus £8 postage per test. The above mention £70 is because we have bought the day 2&8 as a package is that is what we have to do 👍🏻👍🏻

I didn't think your personal test result could be sent to anyone else without your consent under data protection legislation but you're right, it is within the realms of possibility. I was certainly never asked about my tests, norcwas anyone else I know personally who has recently travelled back to the UK.

Does anyone know if the tests from expert medical just get posted through your letter box or do you have to be in? We plan to order ours whilst still in France, our tunnel is 10pm on a Saturday evening so our day 2 will be Monday, I’m wondering if they would send out before the Monday?
Thanks

Our were put through our door, each one was photographed as it was put through, and that photo linked to the item. Delivery via DPD.
