Just part of it but you get the jist of whats to come.i had unlimited on last years trip no probs.
Cheers Cris.🍻.

My phone contracts have always been limited to 2 months roaming, in fact three banned me from roaming a couple of years ago 😁 I'm with plusnet now but the rules are the same 😊

thats me switching off wifi on my phone and tablet then. my data use is allways more roaming ,,,,, it obvious we dont have access to home wifi...

I don't think this has to do with anything other than Vodaphone coming into line with what others have been doing for years. They aways seem a bit hit and miss though, sometimes people are charged or warned, others report using the same sim for months with no issue

In the small print on the op it says it's a European thing not UK.

Orange in my case, roaming outside allowance without charge so far. I do get texts info, but it carries on working. My bill check on line no extra charge except to what I committed to. I get throttle back on data but works. That’s not a problem. A local sim with 5 euro gets you unlimited calls and texts with 50 gb of data.

Leave voters weren't much interested in the concerns of the relatively few Brit motorhomers who tour abroad in the EU.

UK leaving EU doesn't affect well old pensioners with Portuguese passports to go with their UK and USA ones.

"All I Can Use" data for €25 per month provides me with music, videos, newspapers, radio, television (MOTD), phone and video calls all over the world, online banking, live football and photo sharing etc.

NOS Rools...

JJ

My unlimited everything with Vodafone is £9 a month.
Never ever switch roaming or anything else off (y)

Vodafone has never been unlimited when roaming, it’s always been limited to 25GB per month outside the UK. It’s hidden in the small print
“Roaming data on all Unlimited data plans is capped at 25GB per month in inclusive roaming & £6/day roaming destinations. See vodafone.co.uk/mobile/global-roaming for more information.”

Yes correct always known that but they have always allowed full UK data on say 100gb data plan.

Ye i get i have been lucky so far ,without having the restriction applied by vodafone (it has been applied with other providers i have used)but i think those days are gone as they all aline their t&c,s. It was good whilst it lasted. I will see if my superdrug ,3 mobile sim gets the same treatment as i was told it was unlimited abroad :pinocchio:

Cheers Cris.🍻.

Anybody got anything to add to the what has been posted so far.... I've used Voda extensively in Europe for a good while, might this be coming to a end next year...Views please...

so by their standards, just use more data in the uk, set a cap at the data level you are entitled to and make sure you use it all in the uk, then when you go abroad set your cap at a lower level ....

Not heard anything from Vodafone and I've been using up to 60gb abroad not unlimited plan though.

Just had a conversation with a friend that works for a multinational telco, he says while the publicity from just about every uk company is currently saying ‘we have no plans to reintroduce roaming charges’ it’s just a waiting game.
When the first is brave enough, or forced to by economics then they will all follow.
His take is that we will soon see ‘UK only’ lower priced tariffs as the start of the process and tightening of ‘small print’ clauses that most contracts had but were sometimes only variably enforced, such as the Vodafone limit.
The advice he gave me ‘buy sim in destination country’!

Just re-read previous posts....From January 18th 2021 some changes might happen..

"His take is that we will soon see ‘UK only’ lower priced tariffs" seems to have started. Vodafone have Basics SIM only deals with no roaming.

We used our Virgin unlimited in Beni for 2 months in January - watched BTSports, Virgin Go, iPLayer, ITV hub and all internet with no problems. £27 per month all in.

Just re-read previous posts....From January 18th 2021 some changes might happen..This is something we haven't had to deal with up to now, we too have had good Data for years now.....

Not a lot of point in talking about what we have now or in the past.
The OP is contemplating what happens after the 1st January.

I think deals are always changing as companies look at ways of tempting some customers. If the requirement to allow roaming has been removed it would make sense to offer UK only deals cheaper. It could be some get cheaper deals because of this if they don't want roaming.
