We have a Burstner A Class and am wanting to get a dashcam fitted.

I wonder where is the best place to mount? I would like it at the top of the windscreen but wonder if this will clash with the pull down blind.

Any advice from other Funsters?

Thanks

We mounted our dash cam under the front of the drop down bed in our A class. We 3D printed a new mount for the NextBase 212. It’s powered from the 12V supply the feeds the lights above the front seats. It’s far enough back so it doesn’t get in the way of the blinds at night. When the bed is down, the 12V supply is switched off automatically.

With our drop-down bed and the blinds, there was nowhere sensible to mount the camera in the usual spots at the top. Instead I've mounted it on the dashboard. It's inside the blinds, so doesn't interfere with closing. It's upside down, but that doesn't matter. The view is still higher than most cars' viewpoints. Make sure wherever you put it, the view through the windscreen is swept by the wipers.

I think from a legal aspect the driver shouldn’t be able to view the screen whilst driving

Switch the scree off or get a Nextbase and put it speedo screensaver
So heads up digital display

Works for me

Nextbase 300w from Aldi, no screen but connects by wi fi to your phone to view footage, its thin enough to go behind the screen blinds on our van.

On my carthago A Class that’s where my nextbase 622GW is fitted and the blind clears it easily👍
