Hi all,
We are new to the motorhome world and would like to spend a few nights on Dartmoor. Could anyone recommend some good overnight stops, preferably near a pub!
Thanks.

I think the Castle at Lydford would be a good place to start.

Hi Anne and Steve,
Just thought this might be of use to you
http://www.bettycottles.co.uk
It is right by the moor, good for walks etc and is also in the brit stop book, plus it's only about a mile from the A30.
Hope this helps :)

Betty Cottles does an excellent carvery Sunday lunchtimes (best to book) which includes a serve yourself dessert with as much clotted cream as you fancy, yummm. I was there Sunday and stopped the night in their car-park. Free wifi and there's a waste dump just behind the hedge.

The Fox and Hounds at Lydford also turns out an excellent meal. They have a campsite at the back too and there's a track directly onto the moor.
