.
we’re upgrading our new to us 2003 Swift sundancer 600b

If you look at image 1 there is an image of out overhead cupboard doors looking the worse for wear. will there are 17 years old.

removed the handles tried stain. Looked a right mess.
tried polish still looked bad.

tried a coloured wax Still looked bad. Even tried the shoe polish.

image 2 and 3 .

decided to cover the marks altogether I used some stainless steel plates I bought from a well known auction site.
At last there covered and I personally think it’s an upgrade.

anyone else have the same wear then this would be my fist recommendation..

Looks very good, were they all pre-cut you just had to drill them ?

They were pre cut 100 mm x 200 mm I had to drill and put a slight bend on them to fit.
I also used some double sided tape to hold them firmly in place should the handles work loose for any unknown reason.

I think that looks an excellent work around and one which I might copy for our cupboards.

Thanks for posting

If your cupboards have a slight bend in them then choose the thinnest material you can that way it is easy to bend.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cut your fingernails, now thats a great idea.

Better and a good solution

I would think about shaping the upper part to a curve to match the handles curve.

To avoid such issues you should have cut your finger nails…
? ?? It’s a used motorhome but new to us.

so it’s been used by other owners. Since 2003.
We are refurbishing it .

so no I don’t. need to cut my fingernails thank you..

and if we sell the. Motorhome the new owners will not have to cut their finger nails either.

Tried that but the steel is very hard. Started cutting with a grinder and a ultra thin stainless steel cutting blade but it was marking the steel. Them tried with a grinder and had the same so left them as there were supplied.

Sense of humour bypass?

That's a very good solution and certainly makes it look quite contemporary ... are you doing any other bits?

(PS .. don't take to heart the daft comments, you'll see loads of them on 'fun' as little things amuse most of us! :giggle: )

nice job I do think sometimes the supplied furnishings can be nice looking but difficult to c
keep clean especially as they get older and more used.

I am at the point of stripping everything out inc all the flat panels.

The seats I have out as I am going to fit two new batteries . Soon.

While there out I have the material two types I want to use and have put some aside to go with the two cab seats.
these will be done by an automotive trimmer.
no idea what that will cost .
And the rest we will do ourselves including all the curtains.
hopfully…

This is where I am at the moment.
