We've got one of these gadgets in the van and green light comes on to indicate it's charging the cab battery but I'm not so sure it is.
Is there anyway I can check other than relying on the green light?
Thanks.

Meter across the battery with it connected take a reading.

Meter across the battery not connected

You will get your answer

You could check the voltage at the starter battery,

As above ;)

As Vipar says, a couple of voltage measurements with a multimeter. A battery that is not being charged has a voltage from 12.8V (full) to 12.0V (as flat as you'd normally take it). If you see a voltage of 13.0V or more, something is charging it.

For example, when the engine is running, the alternator will raise the voltage to about 14.4V. Solar controllers and mains chargers are about 14.4V when actively charging, and about 13.5V when in 'float mode', which keeps the battery topped up.

So a measurement while the green light is on will tell you if the battery is charging or not.

Not had chance to stick a voltmeter across yet but Sargent dial is showing leisure batteries at 13.8v and cab battery at 12.3v. Just fitted a new cab battery so want to make sure it stays topped up.

The cab battery voltage isn't looking good.

That's what I thought. If need be I'll buy a battery master or can you recommend anything else?

Your CSB unit made by CBE should transfer power to the starter battery when the leisure battery is over 13.6 volts which it does not appear to be doing. It should have fuses fitted in its wiring which should be at its connections to the batteries . It may be that one of these has blown but not the other allowing the green light to show on but no charge going to the other battery.
If the fuses are ok and the unit is faulty, the Vanbitz battery master is very good and works by transfer of power without it needing to be 13.6 + volts.
Their website explains its operation very well.
Just to add that if your CSB unit wire has been disconnected from the starter battery (if the battery was removed for charging etc) and not replaced I think you will find that the green light could still be on but with no power going into the starter battery.
