I am just completing the Crit'Air application and need to select your vehicle category from the list below:

Passenger Cars
Light Commercial Vehicles
Motorcycles
Mopeds
Heavy Goods Vehicles, Buses and Coaches

Our van is 5400kg, registered this year - Am I right in thinking I need to select Heavy Goods Vehicle?

Thanks in advance for your assistance :giggle:

Well since a MH is normally classified as Category 'M' (Check your V5c) which is a passenger vehicle not goods I would put Passenger Car. It is certainly not commercial and not HGV (PHGV is a revenue class recognised for UK VED purpoes only)

Thanks Nomadic & Geoff

Geoff - Where do I find 'Category' on the V5C?

On the bottom of V5 it has tax class listed as PRIVATE HGV - see attached photo

I do not know what document your thumbnail is showing but it does not look like a V5c where tax class is at the top of page 2.

Vehicle category is item 'J' on the long list on p.2 of V5c. If a standard MH build, not a van conversion, it should be 'M'

Apologies for butting in but I’m trying to apply for Critair sticker and can’t get past first page - get to the “prove you’re not a robot” box which I tick but when I hit the blue continue button nothing happens! Tried it 5 times now even using the form in French without translation - Nada! Anyone else had this problem? If so how did you get round it? My bad just realised this post is 2 years old 😂😂😂

Are you trying to do it on an iPad? When I applied earlier this year I had similar issues. I then switched to using my laptop and it worked fine.

Managed to do mine on Saturday with iPad after a lot of attempts. This is how I did it If it helps anyone.

1) photograghed logbook but with additional area around.

2) Then trimmed the image to remove the excess in the photo section. (This reduced the image size from 2,2mb to 1.6mb) still didn’t work.

3) moved or copied file into documents. Resaved file into pdf format (cannot remember how I did that). And it uploaded first attempt.

Ok good to know it is possible on iPad but I don’t think it was the image that was the problem in my case as I had got it under the required 2mb using jpeg compressor - going to give it a break for now as it’s doing my head in will try again later 😂

Had loads of attempts will file size under 2mb And failed as jpeg from iPad camera (Came up with red writing where the problem was on form. Definitely changing file format and it worked for me. try opening with paint or something like that on Mac and then save in another format.

I got one for the latest moho at the beginning of the year using my MacBook Pro. Can't recall any issues. IIRC I scanned the V5 as a PDF.
