Covid test packets, usefull.

They are very useful, one of the early packs I got came in a plastic 'case' which is extremely useful ... or will be when I find a use for it!

I find the probe stick thingy is actually a very fine bottle brush and have loads of uses for them.

I thought the plastic bags were for sealing the used bits of kit away so that they can be thrown away safely.
Considering they tell you to blow your nose before taking the test I would think there would be more 'germs' on the tissue you use. They don't tell you to put that in the bag!
Ps. Merry Christmas everyone 🥂

We do on the full PCR test, then discard into a separate bag, then sanitise your hands again BEFORE even touching the swab!
Then every bit of rubbish is discarded into the same bag and the test tube with the swab in is put in a separate bio hazard bag to go off to the lab.
Difference in testing procedures at home and at a PCR station are like chalk and cheese!

Pointlessly rich according to the inventor K Mullins who told everyone the test is unreliable in none laboratory conditions.
Makes people feel secure I guess and hides a great deal of other government activities.
Nothing like a diversion tactic to detract the eye from the main event.

We always test at the same time so I put both lots of waste into one bag so I have lots of spares to use for other things. The cables idea is great, hadn’t thought of that.

Are the discarded tests going to landfil or recycling There are no recommended ways of disposal. Clear ones not too bad but what happens with the positive tests.
I have wondered this from the beginning

The instructions say to put the sealed bag in general household waste. They probably end up in landfill or incinerators.

when wound around fingers
Be careful winding data cables too tightly. It can damage them little by little until they fail. To extend the lifespan keep them in looser loops and don't pull them tight when wrapping them up.

i would like to think it is distrpyed but ..............................

All waste generated on a PCR testing site , ie our used gloves, masks, aprons, cleaning cloths and mop heads plus sanitising tissues/wipes and the waste generated from the testing kit plus our own staff on site LF tests when we are tested, and generated either in the sanitized testing tent or generally on site, are placed in yellow medical hazard bags and separated from general cardboard and other waste and kept binned separately before being sent for incineration.
All cardboard packaging generated from deliveries of supplies of any sort are again separated from other waste and sent for recycling.
Other minimal waste, non recyclable, goes to landfill which is about 1 to 2%.
Home LF tests and Packaging, and I suspect PCR test packaging, go in general waste at the domestic point of use.

Or if you have the patience and a bit of glue you could build a church!!!
