Our recently new to us Cheyenne has fitted carpet which is virtually unmarked. We have rubber backed mats which cover 90% of the floor space but unfortunately they 'glide' around across the carpet pile. We have tried joining the mats together on the undersides but the same thing happens.
Has anyone found a way to overcome this issue at all?
Best Wishes.

If carpets are removable remove them, store them safe at home.
We did this and bought a carpet remnant, used the original carpets as templates on the remnant then had the remnant edges bound. Useable carpets and your nice new/clean carpets are tucked away safe!
You will never get a carpet to sit still on top of another one, downright dangerous!

In both the Motorhomes we have had, we removed the pristine cream fitted carpets and put them in the loft. Bought several boring brown washable doormats of the internet on eBay at various sizes and put them down to cover the areas we walk on. When we sold our first MH we put the pristine carpet back in. Easy to sweep out the MH, and every so often we put the mats through the washing machine.

Thanks for your reply Shrimp. The carpet is fitted, not removable.

Had exactly that in a previous vehicle - within 3 months of using runners and matts that seemed to have a mind of their own, ripped out the carpet and replaced with Tarket Vinyl tiles - cheap but cost a packet to install.

The runners and matts still had a life of their own though.

We also had carpet, which we removed and put in the loft.
Our carpet was protected with film that is used by decorators.
It sticks to the top of the carpet and can be peeled off easily.
You would need to recover the carpet every season, but it would be pristine underneath

I think what I would do is use the carpet as is, and once it looks tatty replace it with office carpet tiles.
Make sure you buy an extra box.
Office carpet tiles are easy to fit and also easy to replace, so ones in the doorway or under the hob can be swapped or replaced easily.
