We have decided not to go to Portugal due to the government banning all wildcamping for the foreseeable future.

Yes a bit of a pain that, we will probably give it a miss until they lift the ban.

The edict from the Portuguese government was a little ambiguous as the measures were included in measures to control the use of and parking near to beaches, not sure that it relates to the whole country and will probably be a temporary measure anyway

It's the coast we like so that's it, even worse is they have shut Alvor Aire.

If it was just a €30 fine you wouldn't mind if you got it wrong but fines in Portugal are silly money. If you blatantly ignore the rules so be it but it's a hell of a penalty if you mistakenly get it wrong.
