We are trying to organise a few nights in Copenhagen with our kids flying in to join us. First week of June.
has anyone been? Campsite or wild camping suggestions all welcome.
cheers

We stayed at Malmo and got the train over

That's a great idea Gerry. I lived in Copenhagen for 6-months and I found everything about the place to be hugely expensive.

It's best to stay out of the city and commute by train (which just so happens to be the most efficient train service ever).

We were hoping for something closer as half the kids would stay in town.

Maybe we need to find another city?

We stayed at Campsite (can't remember name) N55 34 58.44 E12 37 44.51

Easy cycling distance into Copenhagen..

WHy would you stay in a completely different country ..................unless you are Ryanair.

Camping Absolom was fine if expensive and train or longish cycle into the centre.

Probably need to book for that time of year.

Thanks all, we are thinking the kids might be better in an air bnb, we can camp and scooter or public transport to them. It’s our daughters 30th and as we will be spending 3 months exploring up to norway sweden Finland etc a little celebration there might work.

We go every year as my wife is from Copenhagen when we go in the van we stay at
Copenhagen Camping (just Google) 8ks from city centre bus stop at gate and about 10 min taxi to airport good site all amenities walk to beach bars shops swimming pool on site also they have small cabins ideal for your kids cost for van per night with leccy about 25 pounds in the summer
It's in the area of Dragor which is very reasonable for eating and shopping but city centre is expensive as you would expect
Hope this has been helpful and enjoy

Would you need a Danish camping card? We were turned away from an Acsi because we didnt have one. We could have paid a surcharge but it was only a one night stop so we went to a marina instead.

Danish Camping Board sites
The Danish Camping Board rates its affiliated camping sites with a one-to-five star rating based on factors like campsite maintenance and security, the amount of information available for tourists, sanitation standards, reception opening hours and cooking and bathroom facilities.
In order to stay at one these campsites you’ll need a camping permit (campingpas). This means registering with <Broken link removed>, which issues membership cards. The cards can also be bought at all Danish Camping Board campsites as well as many tourist information offices. They cost around 110 DKK. Alternatively, non-members can purchase transit passes at individual campsites for 35 DKK.

Looking again I'm not sure how old that article is, but this seems to be the up to date one - unless somebody knows better.

Think Mousy is going in June so acsi wouldn't apply anyway as it's in season
Acsi is accepted Copenhagen camping off season never heard of the scandi card certainly never been turned away from any sites in Denmark

We stayed with our van at Charlottenlund Fort , it was the most stylish campsite we have ever stayed at.
Handy to get in and out to visit Copenhagen.
Not cheap but a brilliant spot !

I booked here last year but couldn’t visit due to health issues. I’ll be back this year. Last year I got the last pitch in June when booking in April. So precook in plenty of time.
