Just phoned "Home farm caravan park Burnham, Somerset" They have now Banned all Continental Caravans and Motorhomes if they have doors on the .Offside (Drivers Side)

@Howard H if this spreads throughout the land, the mighty Benimar might have its uses after all:whistle:

No mention of it on their website.

Excuse my ignorance but door on drivers side ?

My B544 has passenger door on near side and hab door on off side, would I be included in that then ?

I think it's referring to the hab door on the right hand side regardless of which side the steering wheel is on.
If its true it will be for door facing door pitching and privacy.
I reckon they'll have a downturn in bookings.

Not this again!

Caravans I can understand because they have to face forward in case of emergency but motorhomes can be driven in/out either way.

Don't shoot the messenger - I saw it on another forum

I'm still clueless as to why a door on the offside could be an issue. Can someone explain please. Ta!;)

Paranoia and privacy.
Some people don't like opening their door to look into someone else's van through their open door..... Or have someone look into theirs.
Doors on the same side and all parked tail in or out will mean opening onto their opposite wall.

Rediculous but there it is.

Find it hard to believe a site would deliberately alienate a high proportion of their potential customers Still its up to them I suppose and doesn't effect me as I wouldn't want to stay there anyway

What an eyesore that place is. every time I pass , it is packed solid.
You haven't enough money to pay me to go on it.

I can see an extra question on Funster rallies as to door orientation. Forget the 6m rule , everyone must be in proper LG or rh row by row alignment so your roll out awnings can’t clash :)

Won’t want us then as we are a Hobby with hab door on the drivers side!
They would think us part of the ‘ travelling ‘ community!

You may get two Tuggers having a tug in view of each other. There could even be a chain reaction resulting in the second coming of our lord Jebus

I think it's because of the travellers at one time they wouldn't let hobby or tabbart caravans on as it was travellers that had them, but now they use motorhomes aswell, but you are like sardines in a tin on that site
