Looking at an Adria 640 SLB that comes with a compressor fridge Which only works off 12v or mains.

we tend to camp off grid quite a lot

Question 1 :how much electricity 12v would they use how long would the battery last ?
: 2. Are they noisy ?

I have had mine running for a couple of days now, at home, nothing else on mind, and the 100w solar keeps the batteries full, when we are away ,can't really tell as the engine is running some of the day, but this will be our third year with the fridge and we have never been anywhere near having a flat battery.
Not noisey at all , can't hear it running most of the time.
Just another thing you didn't ask, it will keep frozen stuff frozen in 30 degree heat.

I have one in my PVC and yes you can hear it at times but I don’t really notice it now. I cant give you much idea re the consumption as I installed a second battery a d 2 x 100 wt solar panels!! My batteries have never let me down yet but I do have the fridge on a low setting and have at times switched it off over night if I thought the batteries were a bit low. And as mentioned above the freezer compartment is great - ice cubes for the G&T no problem!!

Noise no real problem for me. I work on the basis of it using about 40AH per day. I have100 W of solar an two 100 Ah battries. I can usually do 3 nights ( about the same as for the toilet and fresh water)

Agreed. We recently bought a Vitrifrigo 115ltr fridge. The makers state that from 'cold' it will use 3.5 amps, but average at 1.4. Even in our dodgy climate our 140w solar supports it no problem!
And it has a 17ltr proper freezer...

We have the same Thetford compressor fridge in our van, we don't keep tabs on it's usage and we only spend three or four nights off grid when touring in Europe, we have a 100w solar panel and two 110amp L/batteries which keep up up with our usage. Here's a link to the specifications of the fridge you may find helpful.

This Finish pair share their full time mainly off grid (in the summer) adventures you may find their blogs useful

The one I installed on the boat (Dometic) uses 33W when running. The amount it cycles really depends on ambient temperature, temperature of contents and, most importantly, efficiency of insulation! No noisier than a fridge at home, so very quiet, but not as quiet as an absorber fridge. I seriously upgraded the insulation last year and it made a huge difference.

I have 160W of solar and 2 x 110Ah lead-acid batteries, which are sufficient to provide for all our power needs.

Hope this helps.

I have 100w solar and 170amp battery power, I have managed 4 days (including tv and fantastic fan) in sunshine before the fridge starts complaining (the red led inside starts flashing if it hasn't enough power)

Its probably a Dometic fridge if it is you should be able to get the spec sheet here They are quite, not silent they kick in every so often but most wouldn't notice it, as others have said couple of leisure batteries and Solar you will go for ages, also it depends on your fridge setting and the outside temp. Normally I chill ours down the night before setting off and where possible place chilled food in to it.

I installed an older 2nd hand 12 volt Shoreline fridge in our Hymer S650 a few years ago. 150 watts solar panels, 2 x 110 ah LB's, 2 winter months in Spain... not a problem with the fridge, and we could hardly hear it.
I'm sure you'll be ok.

We have that model of van. Not had it more than a couple of days without hookup but no issues at all. I am a very bad sleeper and was worried that the noise if it might disturb me, not at all. It also has a night mode which is vey quiet. We use this at night but on the odd occasion I have forgotten to switch it over it hasn’t kept me awake. Happy with its performance as well.

We have a dometic though not sure of the model, but it makes a noticeable noise at night.
wish it had a night mode As I’m a light sleeper.
im thinking of using ice packs so I can turn it off over night.

If you are looking at ordering new, there is an unprintrd option of 132 litre tall fridge on the SLB which we went for on ours
we had 120solar and 2 x 100 batteries

Once I left it on in storage for 7 days by mistake, and the leisre was at 12.6 v when I got there 👍👍

Also , there is a quiet night-time setting which is brilliant

Good luck

No problem with ours, 100 watt solar and no flat batteries.
I’ve never noticed any noise at night and I am a very light sleeper
