Lots now
Saw a compass cv20 a sister brand of Elddis at the nec yesterday and it just seems to be such great value for what you get.
Thoughts please.

Since Hymer were taken over by the yanks they have reintroduced the Compass name.
It's all about different graphics and names. The Compass/Elddis van conversions have come about from the Hymer vans. Good money to be made from van conversions hence all manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon. I live near the factory and know a few who work there. They have scaled back caravan production in favour of van conversions.

Waiting for mine to be built pick up May/June got everything I need

Very "British" style layout, not a lot of storage when on the move if all your goods and chattels are between the rear seats when travelling, and need to be outside when you make the bed
Same as the Eldiss
Similar (very) to the Benivan

Agree, very good entry level value van though

Very similar to the Benivan. And the Toleno. We looked at all of them. Benivan does have a higher standard specification I feel. And we didn’t like the cupboard behind the drivers seat. All very impressive for the money. We bought the Benivan.

The Benivan looks very nice Spec especially 150BHP engine. We bought the CV20 previously owned a Timberland Freedom.
CV20 has great storage. I really like that the water tanks, heater etc.. are not located under the seats. Lots of storage space under the seats. We also went for the automatic (comformatic) which is superb to drive although in hilly areas could do with a bit more power.

All CV20's are not the same as I am sure you have discovered; each main dealer adds different packs to them to try and make them unique to them. When I looked Kimberley Motorhomes and Brownhills seemed to be adding the most.

When you think about what you need from a PVC - these all tick the boxes at a really decent price, fantastic standard specifications, some good options (auto gearbox for example), and the variations between the models does make it difficult to choose between them. The underfloor utilities of the CV20 is great. The tall cupboard behind the drivers seat though...

We looked at Autosleeper equivalents and could see where the additional £10-15k was spent (I'm sure AS owners will let me know!).

The weak point is Auto-trail. Build quality / QA is not great.

We looked at a few different CV20's from different retailers and purchased from motorhome LTD in Hull for the 130 automatic. We then purchased a tow bar, electric awning, cab blinds, alarm and alloys it worked out quite a bit cheaper than the other dealers and the spec of the accessories was better than factory fitted. Pro's and Con's though taking this path but we are very pleased. I've not really thought about the tall cupboard behind driver seat it certainly doesn't distract when driving. Autosleeper do look nice finish also but a bit dated in some of the conversions.

Peter the thing we liked about the low cupboard was the ability to rotate the drivers seat and have a cuppa! Also another surface to put things on - charge phones etc. Not a big deal but everyone sees different things.
Alloys came as standard but we did add the awning and a bike rack.

Water leaks were an optional extra. We didn’t go for these but Autotrail threw them in for free.

Hi Nosmo, yes that's a good idea I didn't think of the uses of a low cupboard. How is the storage under the rear seats in the Benivan ? I had fun with leaks on Timberland and also Trigano.

We purchased the compass cv20 when we visited the nec this year .
Can’t understand the comments about the low cupboard behind the drivers door.we have a unit that goes from floor to ceiling and has the cupboard at the base and the top half houses the 12volt compression fridge.
We can still swivel the drivers seat to use if we want

It’s purely preference. Nothing to worry about.

Peter storage is excellent tho half of one of the bench seats is taken up with the leisure battery and the heater thing.
No matter hw much you have it all gets filled though.

Between the washroom and the bench seat. With a small wardrobe above it.
And here's the low cupboard thing behind the driver's seat
