I read a lot of threads and talk to a lot of people who say its a shame its no longer summer and the season is over etc..

For me winter IS the season..... Starting now we have Halloween. Guy Fawlks Night. Christmas. New Years and snow covered hills. autumn leaves. Crisp mornings..

I think its the best time to be away in a Motorhome. Wrap up warm. stock the hot chocolate and enjoy the British countryside. Its stunning with a morning frost. We all have heaters and winter clothes. Summer most of us are missing AC to stay cool. Were better equipped as a nation to enjoy this end of the calendar.

I could not agree with you more, we really enjoy the cooler weather.
Even if it's chucking it down we can snuggle up with a film and a cuppa and the dogs at our feet.

I honestly wish I shared your enthusiasm.
Life would be so much easier, but we are not all wired the same. for me I really struggle to function at all in winter especially since I retired.

We love cooler and stormy weather as well the summer heat.

We love cold weather touring too.

We usually head somewhere Scandinavian around end August beginning September and come back December. Then north in the UK February time for a few weeks.

Don’t mind the cold as long as it’s dry, hate the wind and rain but must admit I prefer to have sun on my back. (y)

Unfortunately for those of us that have an outside hobby the UK and even in the Med the winter months slow us down, our boats taken out of the water and placed on the hard, motorbikes are cleaned, protected and put away for the winter most of us do the same with our motorhomes, cycling and running become a chore rather than something to look forward to.
The crisp frosty days are wonderful unfortunately we get far too many grey, wet and bone chilling days, we turn our interests to other indoor pursuits, friends round for dinner, an evening at the theatre.
Days just sat in the conservatory with a cuppa, packet of biscuits and planning trips away when the weather improves, of course when we have that sunny crips frosty morning we make the most of it, sadly they are far and few between.

And endless traffic when it snows because we 'as a nation equipped for cold weather" can't clear the roads ...

Me as well, love the winter, really miss the loads of snow we used to have, but I suppose this is another thing about towns, they just don't get the beautiful winter mornings over the trees and fields, just grey slush and muck and all the things they have to use to get about at a standstill.

Often my Favourite season, though I do like to escape to Spain.

One of my Favourite days was up in the Mountains above Grimentz in val d'anniviers Switzerland.

I had gone up to the top lift. Took my Skis off, sat down with a Drink and a Kit Kat. The birds came wind hovering, motionless apart from eating the crumbs of Kit Kat from my hands.

IF we get the weather, I used to like overnighting after being up in the Cairngorms.

Though I do like Austria and the relaxing acres ski.

Trouble is it's dark so early,,I like to be outside 12 hours a day at least and it's too cold in the sea,,BUSBY.

Pretty to look at but i prefer to see other people in the snow than be in it myself 😁

Try running a roofing business in the winter. The phone never stops but the weather stops you working drives me around the twist. Fill in your planner for the week ahead and by 0830 Monday morning its all gone out the window. Need to retire then my only worry would be how long to stay away in the moho!

We've a few nights away in a couple of weeks but that will probably be it until the sun starts climbing in the sky again. Just use the moho as a day van on bright days in the interim.
