On our 2nd MH now a AutoTrail Savannah which we're absolutely delighted with
It appears the CMC are permitting access to their storage facilities during this lockdown which is very helpful compared to the last lockdown. This information was provided by the warden where we store our MH.
Access permits you to attend/service/run your van but not take it outside the storage compound. We were at ours this morning to run the engine and charge the batteries.

What about those that require servicing, MOT etc, seems daft to have the site accessible but not allowed to remove your own vehicle.

Ours, also CAMC, letter came saying ok for servicing, unsure whether that’s onsite only, however had phone call off servicing peeps as van booked in for some work, they’re closed! Cancelled till end jan. so can’t try the rule out soz.

If you are refused access and unable to leave the storage site.

Is it possible that "IF" you have a genuine need to MOT, Service and Hab check for warranty, then if the Storage provider refuses access to undertake said "Unavoidable" (assuming you have exhausted any extension possibilities with Dealer and manufacturer's) maintenance.

would a letter to the storage provider explaining that due to their position they are now considered responsible for any future warranty claims made that are declined by the dealer & manufacturer's due to lack of timely maintenance.

Just a thought.

However no need to MOT in lockdown. Service & Hab checks Hmmmmmmm.

You could say that to them in which case they might say fine pick it up but don't expect to get back in!!!
Hopefully mot extensions will be introduced again and manufacturers will be flexible on servicing intervals.

True

That's always a risk, perhaps the wording could be a little less "challenging" and explain the issues and hope for some common sense for the best outcome, else look for other another storage location.

Sent email to CMC hq awaiting response 2/3 days. Trying to get into Gatwick to check the van might be easier to break in.

This is a excerpt from my storage site, which are CMAC club

If the site is in alert level 1-3, normal access arrangements apply i.e .the compound will be open -

November - mid March
Mid March - October

In alert level 4, we are only permitted to allow access for essential reasons -

  • Vital maintenance
  • Removing and returning the outfit for servicing/repair/MOT
  • Emergency access e.g .following storm damage.
If the site is in alert level 4, we will be operating an appointment system, and we ask that you contact the site at least 24 hours in advance.

we are in level 4. It clearly states We can remove MH. Do you have a letter from the CAMC to check it.

No letter or email from the club hence my email to them .Thanks for the feedback.

From that it looks like it is just a matter of arranging the servicing to fit in with when they're around to open up and if required saying where it's booked into.

Sounds quite reasonable, cant see anyone having issues with that approach.
