It has been mentioned on here about using coke cola to clean it ,I was wondering how many litres do you have to put in considering it takes over 10 litres .

I bleach and use boiling hot water.
Give it a shake and empty.
Then take the top off and give it a real good clean.

In many years I have only bothered to clean a cassette a couple of times. Just used thetfords cassette cleaner. Considering it's use I can't see any reason for cleaning it.

Bleach can damage the seals, the Thetford cleaner is a bit naff doesn't work anywhere near as well as vinegar or citric acid.
As for not cleaning it, it stinks if you don't clean it as you get a build up of calcium.

Wouldn’t use Bleach!

A dishwasher cleaner would work as does White Vinegar, leave it to sit for a while, no need to fill it, shake a few times and leave upside down for a while!

I used some calgon in mine, filled them up and left the solution in for a few days as the gunge inside was quite hard, then actually stripped them both down and thoroughly cleand them, after 10 years there's quite a build up.

Muck doesn't bother me, when you deal with customers toilets and bathrooms you get used to it.

Nothing ever builds up in ours, I put bleach in regularly while in use, stops the smell too. Been doing it years 👍

Place cassette in open area away from people pets or vans. Stand upright with drain facing upwards and screwtop removed. Tip 2 Litre bottle of cheap cola into opening, followed by 3 Mentoes....... stand well back...
.... Hose down well with fresh water.
