Will 250gms of citric acid be sufficient to clean out these tanks l wish to know.
My intention is to fill the water tank to full, 110 litres l believe, drive the van to give it a good slosh around, leave for a day or two then transfer via the taps to the waste tank.
Repeat drive and then dispose of, all comments appreciated.
Norman.

I find Cola a few litres in the grey tank drive around to slosh around does the trick. Asda 17p a litre. Other stores are available.

I use 500g per 50litres in the fresh water tank, draw through the taps and leave for an hour or two.

Think this was the amount and times that I got from some Truma instructions.

Trick I learned in the usa was throw a bag of ice cubes in the grey tank and drive the bashed cleaned the sides of the tank and easy to empty no chemicals

Doesn’t it go sticky and gum everything up?

If you want it to "slosh" best not to fill it up but instead half fill it ??

We drop in those sterilising water to make it drinkable tabs, one per 25 litres, supposed to be kind to the hot water tank. It’s the first time I’ve done it in 11 yrs of MH. I can certainly smell the difference in the water coming taps. We don't actually drink from the tanks but do clean teeth! I’ve also used the cola which does actually work, waste water tap whilst on site is open and goes into a waste master.
