Does anyone know what can cause the SatNav not to find the GPS and what can be done to sort it??
Thanks

Thanks. It’s take very long time.If you mean the satellites,it's just patience. Or you can try a switch off and back on again.
I have 2 and sometimes one does not pickup for some time after the other. It varies.
Thanks. Will tryhave you tried a reset, tiny hole in the casing, need a pin or similar, push and hold for 5 sec,
If only a 4Gb internal HD, thenvI am assuming it only has a 128 Mb of RAM. No wonder it is slow. If only 4Gb, your really only want the maps your are going to use ...now.Thanks.
I got the latest maps 2021Q2 from the Nozatec FB group, the internal memory only 4GB and nearly full with the original maps Here 2014, had update TomTom 2017 from the Supplier which been put on the 8GB SD card, I backed up it and then deleted the 2017 maps (included buildings, maps, poi, speed cam & phoneme) And add the 2021 Q2 maps etc, worked well when picked the satellites.
With maps of 17 countries only, that we will visit and transit during our next long tour, the 8GB SD nearly FULL (only 435MB), I copy/paste the all Primo file onto 16GB SD (now nearly half full), tried the SatNav with the two SD (8GB 16GB), take Very long time to find the satellites.
You don't really need to have 17 countries on you have little remaining workable memory, just use 3 or 4 countries adjacent to the ones your in and add the others as you need to.Thanks.

How can I check check the size of my Ram?If only a 4Gb internal HD, thenvI am assuming it only has a 128 Mb of RAM. No wonder it is slow. If only 4Gb, your really only want the maps your are going to use ...now.
I recently updated someone's 8Gb unit for them (with 256Mb of RAM), and with Western Europe alone, the memory was almost full, with only 350Mb of free space left. I did try to discourage them from choosing countries they may not visit in the next few months.
I have a larger 9" Android unit, similar to the Xgody 9" unit, and unlike the older Nozatec units, it has never frozen or let me down.
I was gifted an Xgody 886, which is my spare, which again is a good reliable unit.
Cheers,
Jock.
The newer the sat Nov the higher the ram memory will be ,and the bigger SD card you can use but you can't use s 16 GB card in an 8 GB sat View attachment 560591you need to check the sticker on the back.this one is a 4 GB so won't work with an 8 GB card or higher
Mine I bought 2014, have internal 4GB (nearly full) memory with HERE maps, I used since 2018 8GB SD card with 2017 update TOMTOM maps, was working well but was time to update maps to HERE 2021 Q2. Do you thing that the problem of SatNav take very long time to connect to the satellite, relate to the size of SD card and how full it is?
Thanks. Do you recommend to delete this .FDA’s files? How to find them? The 2021q2 update files contain a new file type with the extension .fds this is used to warn of sharp curves and other dangerous road conditions. This only works on later versions of IGO and are not required for most current Chinese satnavs. They take up a lot of space and don't need to be loaded.

But that’s normally the point of a reset button everything reverts to day 1 settings so you can re-set everythingYou need make sure it is fully charged, especially if not used for a while. If out of the box, a mains charge is recommended, then placing next to window to gain the best possible signal from satellites.
The only time you should use the reset button on the rear, is when all else fails. There is a risk of it losing some data, or reverting back to default settings.
If you find the unit slow in general, this is usually due too much data for the size of RAM to cope with, so only load/update the maps you are going to be using, and deleting those of no use to you.................BUT ONLY AFTER MAKING A BACK UP FIRST.
Good luck with it.
Cheers
Jock.
We use maps tooI still love a map
Not on these units, but occasionally you can lose everything, which can be very annoying if it wasn't intended, hence the recommendation that it should only be used when other efforts have failed. I have used the reset button on the older units several times, when they have frozen or gone blank, (not needed to use it so far on later units). and been lucky enough to have retained all my settings, maps, and POIs.............but I knew the risk I was taking, as I had a complete back up.But that’s normally the point of a reset button everything reverts to day 1 settings so you can re-set everything
Resetting any device back to factory settings means any miss setup or code that has been corrupted is wiped and if that includes the customers data so be it. It’s a standard IT procedure. Not on these units, but occasionally you can lose everything, which can be very annoying if it wasn't intended, hence the recommendation that it should only be used when other efforts have failed. In settings, there is an manual option to revert back to factory settings.
The FUN expert on these units is our very own lunarman John, who contributed in a post earlier, and it was he I always went to first, if I had problems. There are a couple of helpful members of the Admin staff, on that Nozatec Facebook Group too.
Cheers,
Jock.

We carry maps too, ie, a "belt & braces" job.We use maps too
Yes yes yes, I appreciate everything you say, but that is not my experience on these older Nozatec Sat Nav units, and the advice from those more knowledgeable on them than myself, it to avoid using the reset button where possible, as you inadvertently run the risk of losing everything, where it wasn't intended.Resetting any device back to factory settings means any miss setup or code that has been corrupted is wiped and if that includes the customers data so be it. It’s a standard IT procedure.
There are manufacturers who say call their help desk before performing such a reset but it is a valid procedure and if you have a knowledgeable friend of course speak with them. But that reset button is always available even if it’s the nuclear option
We run Igo nextgen on a Samsung galaxy tab and on a tesco hudl 2 both running android, run main program on internal memory and load all the maps to sd card, works really well and we use the Bluetooth to the head unit for announcements etc.
We use a radio app also on the tables so we can listen to any radio station anywhere we want and the radio cuts out when satnav makes announcements over the Bluetooth connection to the headunit.
You do use data this way but very little and you get up to date events on you satnav.
If I don't make it back Jock you'll know I had problemsWe carry maps too, ie, a "belt & braces" job.

Dave, my only experience with Bluetooth connections was on the older 7" Nozatec units, and it was abysmal, and again, the advice was not to bother with it.
Your set up sounds excellent, (no pun intended ). I'd be keen to know after your jolly down to Spain, how you get on with the iGo Nextgen software, compared to the iGo Primo we've both been using so far.
Cheers,
Jock.
