I personally found the mount for the 7" Chinese truck sat NAV a little poor and requires constant removal to close the cab blinds.
MY solution was to marry a Garmin mount to the Chinese one.
Just cut off the top and bottom so it is flat then drill and screw as pictured (these are all I had when the idea struck).

Bought one of these, best iPad/satnav holder I've ever had.

Had to adapt the sun shade a little but a great bit of kit.

You have to stick it to something which is the opposite of my modification

Sorry Andy, missed the point of your mod, only half read the thread.

I'll do better next time.:getmecoat:

Off centre mount gives a better angle to driver.

I have now swapped my ICE unit to the lower slot which now makes the sat nav out of sight from the outside.

Mount now revisited with appropriate screws.

I've been thinking about better ways to mount my Navi truck nav, too, and this thread has opened up loads of possibilities already. Many thanks.

I really admire all the stuff you've done to your MH. Imaginative, innovative and impeccably executed. (y)

Nicely done (now you've sorted the screws :)). What is the device below it?

It's in the post before yours, don't you actually read anything Kevin :ROFLMAO:

I'd be keen on the CD mount too, if the media player wasn't so low down in the dashboard. :(

Instead, I've used the dash top style mount, as the blooming windscreen is too far away from the driving position.

Expensive for what it is Jock.

Kev
Maybe Kev, but it's all I could find at the time................some years ago, which was heavy enough to do the job.
I didn't fancy having a sand bag on the dashboard. :xrofl:

Cheers,

Jock.

There is no easy answer to this problem, my dash slopes away from me, and I hate screen mounted stuff, I made up a bracket for the TomTom, it is just jammed in the gap between the dash and the A pillar, not moved in the last two years, I have some of the Broken Link Removed on the back of the TomTom and on the bracket, I use it for all kinds of jobs where I can't screw, handy for remote control storage too.

I have had one of the animal sound things for about 7 years now ! I always announce our arrival at meets with a cock crow !!

Read all about the sat. Nav. On previous threads . Are they still good value and do you still need a Chinese pictionary to translate? My trusty old t/tom has given up the ghost.
