Yes thats right carvers at wolverhampton 26p a litre.they dont charge fuel duty if for heating
I have argued this point before with the forecourt price, no fuel duty as I am using it for heating my van only.
Just looked it up on LPG.eu. Autogas is 58p per litre. If you subtract the fuel duty at 32p = 26p per litre.Well I put in 21 litres just over £5 give them a ring ask them the price and come back on here and tell me I’m wrong. Carvers littles lane wolverhampton
SorryBet the cashier thought "stupid man, either pay the price or go elsewhere"
Unlike Europe lpg is a very minor fuel, slowly garages are not bothering with it which is worrying.
Causing a commotion when you fill up wont help our cause.
Nice if true but sadly the road duty is per kg and not per litreJust looked it up on LPG.eu. Autogas is 58p per litre. If you subtract the fuel duty at 32p = 26p per litre.
Doesn't a litre of water weigh 1Kg? ....unless I'm mistakenNice if true but sadly the road duty is per kg and not per litre
It does. But LPG is not water. A litre of LPG weighs about half a kilogram.Doesn't a litre of water weigh 1Kg? ....unless I'm mistaken
Pffft .Nice if true but sadly the road duty is per kg and not per litre
I don't think they do, its only when its used as a road fuel that it changes.I think LP gas and kerrosene oil are 5% vat rated for heating. Not sure how the VAT man would differentiate between heating and cooking for LPG.
The price quoted by the OP cannot be correct even if 5% VAT was added.
Thanks, shame it is too far away for me to top up fromYes thats right carvers at wolverhampton 26p a litre.they dont charge fuel duty if for heating
The 58p per litre quoted from mylpg.eu was from April. The latest figure I can find is from November from FillLPG which is 48p.
So using 48 as ‘on the road fuel price’ - subtract VAT at 20% giving 40p, then subtract the fuel duty of approx 16p (half a kg round figures), giving 24p, then add back on 5% domestic use VAT giving 25.2p per litre.
All very rounded rough figures, but close enough to show the OPs original quote of 26p per litre is doable.
@Tude don’t give up.
