Morning fellow Ducatoers.

Noob question that I have never needed to know before today! I have a Rimor Europeo 87+, on a Ducato chassis. How can I find out whether I have got an X290 or an X250 chassis?! What is the difference?

Your registration document will show your VIN number it will start with 3 letters and then either 250 or 290.

It's a 250!

But what is the difference between the 250 and the 290?

First X290 were about in small numbers in 2014. Chassis number does not help my 2015 X290 starts ZFA250. Headlights are best give away.

It would be better if you asked the question that explains why you need to know.
Is it weight, performance, European engine classification??

Does the weight make a difference ? like having a maxi chassis ?
I've put out a modification query to a Ducato service workshop and they wanted to know whether it is a 250 or a 290. Is it chassis length or year or weight or something?

Cheers.
