My son did something similar with our Transit 2 years ago.

Insurance wrote off van (£4000) - accidental damage.

Hi Bill looking on both eBay and autotrader yesterday theres a few vans for sale with good engines etc starting at 700 , you could use engine and sell it for parts and get most of the cost back
