My Hobby van has a large front dinette table that forms a bed. We have never used it for a bed and it's quite large and rather awkward to extend.

At the recent motorhome show we saw a number of vans fitted with a table on a central column with a top that slid from side to side in both directions. I have found a base fitted with the top mechanism but can anyone tell me how easy it would be to fit such a table and can anyone recommend a company that could do the work?

Panel Van Conversion

We have a Citroen Relay panel van conversion and space is at a premium. I bought one of these (with the medium table top) and attached it to the lower front panel of our side seat bench (which is on the offside facing the sliding door). It's a great piece of kit, moves in all directions and is easy to remove and stow away if needed. It's designed for yacht cockpits but works perfectly for us: https://www.marineteak.co.uk/lagun-adjustable-swivelling-cockpit-table-mounting-system-331. There's also a You Tube demo here:
