CCC pulling out of overseas rallies ???

If the below is true it will be a big disappointment to many myself included and I suspect will cost them dearly.

We do regularly but enjoy the occasional rally and catching up with old friends.

Well the club we belong to took the decision in March to cancel all rallies up to 3 July and also the two in Europe in September - however quite a few members are currently planning to visit at least one of those two sites in September independently. It's a very large site, Dutch family owned and all in all they're always very accommodating anyway. We do run monthly-ish winter rallies in the UK but have never attempted to run any after September/just into October abroad. We don't get involved in ferries, routes or overnight stops on the way so all we're really doing is enabling members to meet up with friends here and there, for 10 days at a time at a pre-arranged price.

Hence C&CC have only done (but on a larger scale) what we have done. It's by no means the end of life as we knew it - however we all need to accept that CV19 is. Some things will never be the same, some things might be.

Change happens - so adapt.

The C&CC does seem to be handling all sorts of things far less professionally than the CMC. We belong to both organisations.

I think they have enough to deal with in the UK without trying to deal with meeting the rules and regs for other countries ... they are acting in the best interest of the organisation and the majority of it's members which IMV is what they should be doing.

I honestly don't know why people think they are going to be able to 'carry on as normal' nowadays, not just for this, but for anything ... life HAS changed and will not go back to how it was for a very long time, if ever ...
