Hi all
I have just bought a MCV-2 fridge fan kit - the cable on the fans is pretty short so I need to extend it.
I wondered if anyone else has fitted the same kit, and knows if it is possible to buy a plug/socket to extend instead of having to cut and joint the cables...
(Pictures are from a google search, but the socket/plug I need is like the one in the 2nd picture)

I fitted one to our previous van but managed OK with the standard length cable as I mounted the control unit in a a cupboard just above the fridge, not sure about extending it as it might alter the temperature sensing calibration.

Sorry can't help you with that specific problem but I thought I'd take this opportunity to include this link to an excellent install demonstration of the Thetford unit in case anyone thinking of doing the same picks up this thread

We had no problem with the length of the cables, picking up a live feed from behind the fridge and then fitting the control unit in a cupboard above the fridge.

The plug fitting in the second image looks like a standard computer type 4 pin (only three in use)

There will be lots of variants available example: Amazon product ASIN B07RZD3MNL It's the sort of thing that Maplin were excellent for.

Thanks all - I think I will need to make a lead - this is a close up of the connector
Does anyone know if it has a specific name?

looks like a molex of some description though i have not seen one with 3 ridges so may be a custom for the controller, you may be better cutting the wires and splicing in 4 wires to extend the length rather than trying to find a match

Can’t you cut the cable somewhere and put a extension piece of cable in? No need for new plugs then.
