Hi folks, how many sachets do you put in your cassette or do you use the liquid , have only ever put one sachet in but under the new ways that we will have to use our on board facilities, do you think two might be better to help keep the aroma in check.

One tablet from Aldi for us, then Zoflora diluted in a spray bottle, (y)

Just one or a splodge of bio liquid. Minimum or no rinsing when emptying seems important to keep the useful bugs going. I only rinse out prior to storage or if theres a bog paper block which is rare as our paper, Tesco, breaks down well.
We use ours all the time when away. We are currently on a site, Le Cite Carcassonne, but consider site facilities too high risk.

While on the subject of loo paper, some time back we were finding that loo paper in the cassette was not breaking down very well and getting caught up in the cassette and not flush out very well when emptying, so we changed over the loo paper that is specifically made for use with septic tanks. We find this paper works great for your cassette use as it is as strong as normal loo paper, but within minutes of being dropped into the cassette it dissolves into a pulp.

Hi. Regarding the Ammovit crystals, how much are you using in your cassette ? I have a box of the stuff but have no idea on amounts to use. Thanks for any info on this (y)

A German motorhome website that did and article on Ammovit said 10 grams per 20 lts of cassette volume.
I use an old ground coffee measuring scoop that holds near 10 grams of Ammovit and as our Thetford C260 cassette holds 17.5 Lts, that was close enough for me.

Make sure you put the Ammovit directly into your cassette and not via your loo bowl because if the crystals touch your loo bowl it will leave brown stains that will never get out.

Thanks very much for that, I will work with that dose and see how it goes. (y)
