Evening. We are having a problem with our shower. The water is no longer draining away.
Both drains are blocked and as the units are sealed with no waste trap I am unsure how
to resolve the problem.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

No it’s not that. It’s steadily been getting worse each time we have been away recently. Now it’s completely blocked.

I would try a drain cleaner and hope it is just hair or soap grease

some say you shouldn't use them, but we do at home, its only plastic pipe, that would be my next suggestion

Yeah we was thinking the same but didn’t want to cause any damage.

we have chic C line. 2016 model. Both shower traps have removable upper sections. Just put a small spoon through the small gap and ease them up. This then shows the equivalent of a P trap and this gets blocked with hair.

Avoid drain cleaner, use a wet-vac if you can't get the drains apart. Wet vacs were made for this type of job.

As stated above, you should be able to lever or unscrew the drain covers off to get access to the traps below.

As Peter Wiltshire says, just gently prize up the centre chrome sections of the waste traps. A tea spoon makes an ideal tool.
You can then clean out the hair etc. that is blocking the drain pipes.

Yes the shower drains do lever up - But - be very careful! the shower tray molding appears to be at its thinnest here where the drain holes are and it is very easy to crack it when using a lever.

The centre of the drain does lever up but as said, take care. it is easy to try and lever up the "inner" section that is secured into the shower tray. They both need doing quite regularly to assist draining.

Mr Muscle Drain buster, works every time, and as the grades of plastics are similar if not the same as domestic will have no adverse effect. avoid using pressure in the system, you could just part a joint where it cannot be seen or accessed!.

After hearing of your problem I thought the traps in my Carthago may need attention.
I very lightly prized the chrome shower drain up and bingo they came out easily.
Definitely plenty of gunge but I'm bald so most of the stuff belongs to the boss..

Before trying anything else I wood try a sink plunger, they usually work, make sure their is enough water in the shower tray to cover the lip on the plunger and pump vigouresly a few times and it will probably clear itself.

boiling water with detergent and a plunger should fix it, mine did the same. I certainly wouldn't start dismantling anything just yet.
