Have read online that there isn't a C&MC campsite at the NEC in February so for anyone thinking of visiting the CCM Show https://www.ccmshow.co.uk/ & considering budget hotel options there is a good offer for the nearby Airport Travelodge https://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/519/Birmingham-Airport-hotel?rooms[0][roomId]=g0ivxbase11j6b&rooms[0][adults]=1&rooms[0][children]=0&rooms[0][extras][0]=&lozenges=&strikeThroughShown=0 with a 30% discount code 30OFF until midnight on 1 January. Don't forget to go via Quidco for cashback for both Travelodge & NCP too.
Prices after discount are:
Monday 18 £30.80
Tuesday 19 £33.60
Wednesday 20 £36.40
Thursday 21 £30.80
Friday 22 £25.90
Saturday 23 £39.20
Sunday 24 £23.80
Parking is in the NCP (no height restrictions) car park next door & is an additional £8.49 per 24 hours & must be prebooked (details on Travelodge web page but you don't have to hand in your keys) but includes a shuttle bus which goes to the airport so then free monorail & an undercover walk into the NEC & to the Show. We have stayed there many times & it's basic but clean & very handy for both the Airport & NEC. The Marks & Spencer Simply Food shop at the Airport is handy for picking up a picnic :)

Some tips for anyone going to the February Show:

Parking is included in the cost of your ticket & plenty of room to park the motorhome but not allowed to stay overnight. Car parks are normally some distance away from the main building & as lots of Show halls to walk around so might be a good idea to hop on the free shuttle bus that take you from the carpark to the main entrance but don't forget to note which car park you are in!
Sensible shoes - not just because of the large area that you might cover but also going up & down all those motorhome steps of varying heights safely.
Wear layers as although may be cold outside it gets really hot in the halls with all the lights & people.
Taking a rucksack with food & drinks is a good idea as cheaper & don't have to queue. Suggest only one rucksack if two of you as some manufacturers don't allow them to be taken into their premium models so may have to take it in turns or leave it outside.
As at this Show most of the motorhome stands are paid for by the dealers & they are showing their forecourt stock so they are more concerned about people being in the motorhomes & any potential damage whereas the October Show stands & stock are funded by the manufacturers so a bit more relaxed.
There is the option of visiting M&S Simply Food at the nearby airport by walking then using the free Air-Rail link - it's a short walk away. Any NEC staff should be able to point you in the right direction as they are normally friendly & helpful.
You can go in & out of the halls freely just don't forget to get your hand stamped the first time you leave. When it's busy & crowded being able to get outside in the fresh air for a break is really good.
Pace yourself - it can be a lot to get around (although the October Show is bigger) & if you have a limited time suggest planning & prioritising the stands you want to see. Suggest downloading the floor plan from here https://www.ccmshow.co.uk/floorplan/ on your phone which is normally available a few weeks in advance. Also more detailed info. about the stands & larger map at the back of the Show guide - have a look at it online https://www.ccmshow.co.uk/download-show-guide/ before you go &/or pick up your free copy on arrival.
There is free Wi-Fi so worth checking any prices or information online before buying - some sales staff don't know all the facts or might even make it up to get a sale :(
Take photos of Show prices & layouts (there are usually boards outside each motorhome) & anything else that you might forget later. It's easy to be dazzled by all the glitz & excitement of the Show.
Ask for a cooling off period with your choice of motorhome held if you do agree a sale - 24 hours is normal.
The last free NEC shuttle bus back to their car parks is normally 7pm or you may end up with a long walk back in the rain like we did one year
Be friendly & smile - it's long hours & hard work on the stands so more likely to get a good deal if you are likeable not demanding ::bigsmile:

If anyone gets sent any complimentary Show tickets that they don't want then us Wombles can make good use of them! :hi:

On the tickets theme - discount vouchers usually available for certain days in MMM (Wednesday), C&MC (Tuesday) & C&CC (Friday) magazines.
Also a ticket for carers accompanying a Registered Disabled visitor is free of charge. When you arrive at the Show make your way to a box office and fill in a ‘carers’ form. Once completed you will receive your free carer’s ticket. A carer’s ticket cannot be pre-booked online and have to be completed at the Show.
As @Madcaravanner advised before (y) - if you need a scooter then best to prebook (£15 per day) as soon as you can as they do all get booked up https://www.ccmshow.co.uk/disabled-access/ & here http://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/disabled-visitors/

Those who do go enjoy yourself

Take your own food and drink the in hall eateries are hugely expensive
If you use a scooter leave in low speed and be prepared to stop in 2mm distance and your battery will last 2 days

We are not going ourselve as we need to save money

Bump for discount code as ends soon!

UPDATE: 40% discount code 40OFF now for both Friday & Sunday nights at this Travelodge if booked by midnight Friday 11th January.
This reduces Friday 22 to just £22.20 & Sunday 24 to £20.40 although parking is extra unless arriving by train or bus - think that's the best recent price!

Show website https://www.ccmshow.co.uk/ now has more info. added - worth having a look at the Exhibitor List & Floorplan & maybe planning your day so as not to miss the ones you really want to visit. Don't forget to pick up the Show Guide &/or Map as you arrive. You can look through the Guide on their website (not loaded yet) before going as it's usually quite big book to carry around especially if you are picking up catalogues from manufacturers. The Map is very handy - you can download it from the website onto your phone but we have found the paper version can be easier to use once there.

You're all welcome to use this map if it helps... ;)

(sorry Jim!)

Is it critical to attend on the day stated on the ticket?
Mine is for Saturday but due to unforeseen circumstances can't go on that day. However I can go on the other days.

Although bought for a nominated day ours have always been valid for any day so worth having a look at the small print on your ticket if you haven't already or maybe contact the organisers to confirm this?

This gives an interesting Show preview
We have German manufacturer (& part of Knaus Tabbert group) Weinsberg https://www.weinsberg.com/en-uk/home.html on our list to look at & especially their Carabus van conversion with UK RHD standard prices from £40540 -£41920 (LHD from €36690 if importing) & their slim coachbuilts - both types have won awards in the industry. Not planning on changing from our Globecar Summit but do like to see what is available!
Will also look at Memo https://memoholland.co.uk/ from Holland for their bike racks & accessories as that's one we haven't seen before.

Morning all
What’s going on here. I was just about to print off free coffee from Swift dealers at the NEC and then I noticed it’s 2019. The post before mine is 2029 so how did that come up? Is it just me - are there posts missing?

Couldn’t see a edit button just noticed I put 2029 it should have read 2019.

Found it now but it won’t change my first post.
