Spotted that Vango are launching a new driveaway awning at the upcoming NEC Show which is like the Kela but is a cheaper, lighter & smaller to store version as it uses poles instead of air tubes. We have our pop up pod which is ideal for extra outdoor space for short stays but do miss a connected larger space for week long rallies so hope to have a look at the Faros <Broken link removed> to see if it might be a suitable option. It's available in Tall & Low versions to suit from small campervans to large motorhomes:

Having a search online it's £249.99 delivered for the Low model & some have the Tall version for that price too although others list it at £269 or more. We've contacted the Vango dealer PJ Outdoors who have the Vango stand at the NEC Show to see if this model will be on display, if there will be a discounted Show Price & whether they can offer a discount code for online orders.
Will post an update here once known.
Currently they only have the Low model listed on their website but hopefully they will add the Tall one too.

These are the most informative videos that we viewed - just a shame they didn't show it disconnected too though:

Just looked at the Vango video. Looks good and if 2 women can put it up with their acrylic nails on, I might be able to manage.

Thanks for the info!

Can you say what pop-up pod you use please?

Much appreciated!

We have the Decathlon Base Seconds but sadly it has been discontinued - probably due to the bright colour not being popular but it is excellent as light, compact, quick & easy to pitch:

It looks very good - shame it's been discontinued.

I am on the lookout for something compact, light and quick to put up, to use as an occasional shelter.

Thanks again.

Just heard back from PJ Outdoors & sadly they won't have the Faros on display at the Show :( They will have have Show Prices so no discount codes possible at the moment.
We will have a good look around at the Show & post on here then.

They sell at crazy prices secondhand especially in the previous grey version as there is nothing like it currently & like many others we have asked Decathlon to do something similar again but they won't :( Our ideal awning would be this style of pop up, maybe a little bigger & in a more muted colour with a removable driveaway tunnel attachment but unlikely to ever happen although this type of pop up pod is still being manufactured in China.

I really like the look of this awning thanks @Wombles - but you do cost me money each year!!! Might just invest in one as it is lightweight and compact.

You’ve got an awning you have never used!

@Aly1 - I know but i’m sure I could sell it for more than I paid for it and the Vango one is lighter and easy for one person to erect. It’s also a good price for a new one and it will fit onto your van also if the need ever arises!! You could take a grand child away with you!!!! Lol

Tried several different types of awning but the best drive away type for us is this one. It’s up in a few minutes (air pumped), allows for full side door opening, is large enough without been too deep from the van and has front entrance which is removable. Just pull out kador and off you go!
It’s an Outdoor Revolution Cacos UNO.

Having looked at all the driveaway awnings suitable for motorhomes at the recent NEC Show still think that the Vango Faros is our best option. Although PJ Outdoors have a 10% discount code TRANQUIL10 which reduces the price on the Vango Faros Low from £250 to £225 delivered (y) unfortunately we need the tall version which they aren't currently stocking & can't pre-order :(
Shopping around online the Faros Tall is around £270 but Newquay Camping have it for pre-order at £249.99 https://newquaycampingshop.com/pages/search-results-page?q=faros which may be an error as priced the same as the Low one but two different prices elsewhere.
