Just on one of our extremely rare visits to a C&M Club site and told electric bikes are not allowed! They take a commonsense view and ignore it but apparently its true.

This is from the Rules at 13(b)
"For the safety and consideration of others, we don't allow the use of petrol or electrical recreational ride-on equipment."

Only need a warden who has got out of bed the wrong side......

Anyone else come across this?

It would be nice if they cut the grass with a push mower, because we have spent a fortune on a pitch with a tractor mower roaring round us all day, ;) when we could be somewhere free and put up with a generator annoying us.

Electric bikes have changed my life. (y)
And made me lazy. Bob.

A bit OTT imo electric bikes are everywhere on pavements etc, and what about the electric motor vehicles etc ?

Oh dear!!! I rode my ebike on Black Knowle C&M site today - I expect a caning or at least the tawse in the morning :)

So what do they do when someone arrives in a Tesla or Nissan Leaf?
Either can be interpreted as breaking their rule so heaven help a motorcyclist!:D

my interpretation of that rule is that it applies to kids quads / kids motorbikes / scooters etc; i dont believe it was intended to stop adult cycling.

however, i could be well wrong. but until a warden tells me otherwise my electric mountain bike will be in full use.

There is a 5mph speed limit on sites so if that rule is applied none of us can complain and it does not discriminate.

Cant tow with either of these

No issue then

@Phill D my thoughts exactly, have used my electric bike with impunity so far, I regard it as functional rather than recreational.

Ah but what if someone turns up at one of their, very, rare sites which accept tents

Given the blanket 5mph on all CMC sites I don't think power assistance is required anyway.

I agree a bicycle is a means of transport not a recreational vehicle. I must get a diesel powered Go Kart to drive around site, they have only ruled out petrol and electrical. :)

If they say you cannot use a mobility scoot then fair enough.. If they can be used then so can an electric bike..
Just one more reason I would not give CAMCC the drippings from my nose
Horrible people who should NOT be involved in the leisure industry

I think Phil's interpretation is correct:

the rule will be so that those stupid electric cars, scooters etc that kids have are not allowed, nor quads or petrol scooters either, also Segways and adult scooters too which are becoming more popular. A bicycle isn't 'purely' petrol or electrical driven so shouldn't fall under the rule.

.... of course it could be because Old-Mo has been and took his ruddy ride-on lawn mower with him! :D

Knowing the namby pamby caravan club brigade nothing surprises me.
They would ban breathing if there was there was the slightest hint of being sued.
I'm sure walking on site will be outlawed sometime as it is dangerous.

Hi. We tried being "Assistant Wardens"........ A sort of trial to see if we could Warden during the summer and follow the sun south in the winter.............. Let me tell you about some "Customers??? ".Mmmmmmmm .I will start with the 05.30 tour of the toilets, lets just say, that some of the customers must have STOOD on the rim of the toilet and blasted away from there..... There is much, much more i could tell you about, but, better the people who don't like it stay away,win,win.........
There where magical moments, when visitors to the site actually spoke to each other and drew up a chairs with other folk and nattered and drank the evening away ,rather than sat in their units glaring out, picking faults, timing Erections......? ...of AWNINGS!!! DOH!!!(y)
