We are going off on our travels, the last time my Mazda battery was flat..

I'm thinking about adding a small solar trickle charger, any recommendations?

I have a 10w small panel on my VW Transporter, propped up on the dash.

Facing south, full sun till about 1-2 o'clock.

Useless from October to March.

But then the drain is probably more, with a tracker installed it is basically flat in 3 weeks.

Not sure if that helps or not!

Question, got a small solar panel, if I leave it on the battery for some weeks, can it overcharge the battery?

I would get a smart charger if you can get a power supply to the car. That will keep it charged but not overcharged.
