Can't make toast because after lighting the grill the flame reduces to a tiny blue flame and will not cook the toast.
Its a Thetford K1520 - Dual fuel Cooker.
I am told by a gas safe heating engineer (not a Thetford expert) that It may need a new switch, if I can get the part but would be quite timely to do and he was not sure that would cure the problem.
Any suggestions?

Well for now you could heat up a non stick pan and put your bread on that, turn when browned to your liking and do the other side, easier than bending down to see in the grill too. We carry an electric toaster (i wouldn't bother) and don't often have toast when not on hook up.
Doesn't help with your problem though.

Same with mine, last time I tried to use the grill for toast the flame went out 4 or 5 times even though the oven and the 3 rings work perfectly. Dunno if it's a common issue but I've simply decided not to bother using the damn thing anymore.

I've never had a m/h grill that was entirely satisfactory for grilling anything.

thanks scotzsue will try your suggestion.

thanks taylor354 watched the utube looks like I need to get a thetford dealer to fix it.

I too like toast, and we don’t even have a grill. I use a thick frying pan and thick bread. The toast is crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. I think it is better than the stuff made in the toaster at home.

There are many types of Ridge Monkey design, we use one designed for fishermen. Once warmed up it makes toast very quickly. Also good for making cheese on toast (one sided or between two pieces of bread.) Croissants too come out very nicely.

I would get it repaired. It not just toast -. It's bacon and sausage loads of stuff.
Mine works a treat

All parts are readily available from Leisure world.

Watched this the other day, maybe it will help.

What a terrible quality of video, It made me want to throw up, the camera didn't stay still for more than a second.
Also, one of my pet hates is to see someone who is apparently trying to teach others and does not even have the correct tools.
He butchered that gas connection with two adjustable spanners, YUK.
I know it is an old thread but I hadn't seen it before, come to think about it, I still haven't seen, as I turned it off before half way through.
