Was trying to book from around 25th June to 9th July today. Computer says no. Trouble is it doesn't say no until you are right at the end of the process (and you have to start again right at the beginning which is pretty crap) and it says no because the vehicle is too big. Its only 7m low profile (2.9m). I just wondered if every crossing was full or they have changed anything (like perhaps sacked all the staff again) or maybe a fault with the booking system.

Anyone else had any issues?

Agreed P&O site is poor but I had no problems. However it was some time ago. One possible reason for refusing to book non car sized vehicles could be the dates. It is prime time for school trips and with all the hassles for coaches at Dover possibly schools and coach companies have chosen Hull and therefore all the space on lower decks are full.
Just a possibility; try a week or so earlier to see if it lets you go further into the booking.

If you are in C&MHC book through them, typically save nearly 50%

Thats what I did by buying Site Vouchers

The problem with the P&O North Sea now is the capacity now the 8astards shut the Zeebrugge Route

This was the end result..

We booked in February for crossing on 18 June returning 2 July with no issues. 7.5m low profile.

Just had a look. Could get a crossing with your dimensions on the dates you want but at a price £961 but without a cabin:eek:
Just to clarify, I didn't try the price of a cabin but they were available.

Newcastle ferry has very few slots for vans left this summer and about £1200 for cheapest cabins return.
We were looking at September but left things to late.
We have a plan B

Yes. I got it to work. If I select the default Standard Motorhome (<7m >2.4m) it wont book it. However if I select 7m and 2.9m it works

Very strange

Not paying £961 though. More than Plymouth to Santander once cabins are selected

Wow - when we booked our return crossing with cabins through CAMC at the beginning of Feb for our mid June crossing we paid £577!
