Morning!.

So I planned for us to get away next week, Eurotunnel, which for us is a real drag to get to, as long as 8 hours. Price was £500.

Playing around with the Caravan & Motorhome site, I managed to get a good deal on Hull. Hull being around 90 mins from us. Zebrugge is freight only.

So, booked to Rotterdam, 8m Motorhome (to include bike rack). Premier Outside double bed, with 4 overseas campsite vouchers £645.

Suits me as it’s 90 mins to Hull and 60 mins to our first campsite in The Netherlands.

Now just trying to work out what forms we need for leaving and entering UK ?

Any tips appreciated

Hull to Rotterdam sounds a good deal - is that a single fare or return? I'm thinking probably the latter.

£500 through the tunnel is very expensive.

I had a good price from the CMC for Hull-Zebrugge early September 6m bike rack with cabin, one way £185.,obviously cancelled now.
Last year Liverpool-Dublin day crossing with cabin, two good meals included, £120.
Of course we ' Pobre Jubilados' can't afford the luxury cabins and have to slum it in the basic cabins  Having said that in the many ferry crossings that we have done we have only come across substandard cabins on Mediterranean crossings and they weren't that bad.
We are on a Caen bound ferry Monday, no forms to fill in at the moment, inbound last week had to fill in tracking forms.

You can buy a frequent traveller ticket for the tunnel for £480 that gives you 10 single crossings or 5 returns.😊
... even cheaper if you share the tickets with another funster :giggle:

We returned on the tunnel last Monday. Only 4 vehicles in the high section and price £207 single including two dogs. We always use the tunnel because of the dogs. We also never buy a return because the return journey always seems less expensive than the outward journey.

We wouldn’t use it. Mostly travel to Spain and in the winter, fir ski trip. We use hull
But if you paid £480 then add £12 for motorhome. Then another £12 for the return you have the return journey for £504 & still 8 crossings you can dump or maybe do something with.

On the hull ferry ?
No the train.they are just scamming on returns with sky high prices. No traffic.

The outrageous prices that are being quoted above are what you get if you leave it late to book. As far as I remember that has always been the case although perhaps not quite that expensive.

I've just looked at a price to go out on 9th September late afternoon and return on 7th October early morning with a 5m to 5.4m camper. The total return price for this would be £197.

That is just about the same as we paid for roughly the same dates in 2019, could be a fiver cheaper.

Moral of story, book well in advance.

All the gear, and no idea!
School holidays perhaps? I’m out on 29-08 back on 19-09 £268 return.
I’d love to do Hull but it’s too expensive!
