If it has a cam belt, 4 years or as stated max 50,000 depending on use and manufacturers Recomendations

If it’s a chain, around 250,000 as far as I know.

What chassis ?

Around every five years is normal.
Miles could be between 50 and 80 thousand.

Personally I’d change it and the water pump. What’s the base vehicle

Probably well overdue already, the belt deteriorates with time even when doing nothing.
