Camasdarach campsite has easy access to the wonderful Camasdarach beaches. A couple of tracks and paths across a field behind the dunes lead to the sands.
Good campsite with provision for tents, vans, MHs, and caravans. Tends to get booked up in the season!
Nearest village with facilities is Arisaig, Mallaig is a bit further away.

Camas means bay in Gaelic.

Camasdarch beach was "Ben's beach" in the film "Local hero".

A long time now
We visited that area few years ago and stayed at Camusdarach camp site ,when we went into the house to pay the site owner was sitting at the kitchen table counting wads of money ,ahh I thought a true Scot that said we had a good few days but the weather was not so good but the rain kept the midges away.a short walk to the beautiful beaches, the sunsets were fantastic .it was a place of great beauty but very isolated so if you are thinking of going make sure you have everything you may need .

We were lucky enough to be there at beginning of June in 2018. Had been dry and sunny for weeks and the grass was brown. Owner said first time they'd watered grass in 20 years. Enough breeze to keep midges at bay.
Got out exploring the coast in canoe most days we were there.
Yes, if you need supplies you do need to drive (or cycle if no rain šŸ˜‰).
Good base for walks along Loch Morar but, again, that needs a bit of a drive.
Also, trips to Eigg (from Arisaig).

Stopped a few times at a site there, can't remember the name, superb location. First time was in 1973 with a tent, board outside advertising flush toilets and showers

Itā€™s one of our favourite sites - not been for a few years, I thought the original owners were selling? But the prices do seem a bit fierce these days!

Another wonderful trip out is the ferry over from Mallaig to the Knoydart peninsula.
