Campsites in Beaune (1 Viewer)

Hi all
We are going through France later this week on our way to Switzerland and would like to visit Beaune, can anybody recommend a good site in Beaune that is within walking distance of the town?
Our motorhome is 7500mm long plus a large bike rack and although the municipal site looks good it says a maximum length of less than 6000mm for motorhome.

The Municipal site, Les Cent Vignes, is quite nice.
We have often stopped there for an overnight. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk into town.
It can get busy and we have seen the site full signs up as early as 5PM.

I know you said campsite but just for info there is also a free aire at Beaune. Its nothing special, just a parking area but convenient for the town...

Not far from Beaune (6kms) is the Château de Savigny-les-Beaune. Website here. Approx €10 entrance. They allow free over-nighting in the car park (no services) and no restriction on length. A wonderful place if you like classic cars, aeroplanes, fire engines, motorcycles etc They are also a Grand Cru vineyard.

This was the site that appealed to us but they do say on their booking form a maximum unit length of 5850mm, do you visit with a motorhome and what length is your unit. With our bike rack lowered carrying 2 bikes we are just over 8000mm long.

We were at Beaune in September, the Aire in the carpark has 5 spaces but we counted 33 vans in the carpark plus us and right next to the old town.

As long as you get there early, I would think they would find you a place.
Or you could tell them your dimensions and see if they will book one of the big drive through pitches (see 18-20 for examples).

My understanding is that the length restriction applies to caravans rather than to motorhomes so I do not think you will have a problem. I have used the site many times, my MH is only 6.40m but I have seen many that are much longer.

We stayed at the municipal ‘Les Cent Vignes’ a few years ago. Our motorhome is 6.5 meters long; no problems and there were some bigger ones there at the time. I suggest you check that it is open as many municipals open at Easter.

The limit is on the website, it is in the pdfs re booking, but as I said above, it is a caravan limit.

We were looking at this site for June so I emailed them to ask if it was ok for a 7.5 m MH...the answer was Yes.
