Since 2011 therefore I'm not a newbie anymore
Can anyone recommend a nice campsite that is easy for visiting Venice.

Also we are thinking of going via Verona so any recommendations for easy access campsites there would be a bonus.

Cheers

Bob

Quite a few on the road to lido de jesolo, number 5 bus takes you to the ferry that takes you over to St marks square

stop at lake garda great place and venice best is lida de jesolo and like chaser says get the boat over when r u going

Camping Fusina. Water taxi at the gate, get a day pass, travel back for food. Avoid Venice prices

Camping Ca' Savio is within easy cycling distance (bike track from village centre) of the ferry stop at Punta Sabbioni, and backs onto the Adriatic if you want a dip after a long day's sight-seeing. We've used it a couple of times and will doubtless use it again - we love Venice.

For Verona we camped next to Lake Garda and got the service bus in and out. Numerous sites beside the lake.

Reasonably-priced tourist menu meals are available beside the Canal Grande if you know where to look - Ristorante Omnibus is one example. The restaurants along the waterfront towards the Arsenale are also lower-priced. It's the Piazza San Marco you need a second mortgage for.

Last time when we went we said we are here now let's do it, so we had a pot of tea for two in St marks square, all silver , band playing the works , 25 euros, but never regretted it, probably won't be there again, and would always of thought we should have done that when you see it on the TV.:)

Likewise. You only need to do it once.

We agree with Micky Drip, Fusina was very convenient. It was just a stroll to the ferry, you can see it on the other side of the the fence. The crossing was fairly quick and interesting. We were able to get back for lunch and walk the dog without feeling the day was really disrupted.
The site had free choice of pitches we stayed beside the lagoon where we could see blocks of flats passing close by. A youth organisation also use it as a camping site and the bar can be noisy, but not every night.

Camping Miramare in Punta Sabbioni 700 metres from the ferry. Excellent and clean facilities.
We arrived at Punta Sabbioni at 0100 and checked in at 0900 hours- no problem.
wifi charged at 4 euros for as long as you are there. Great campsite.

We have stayed there, loved it, will go back some time I hope
