More of an update as most people on here will have heard about this excellent place already. We are on here at the moment its 10 euros a night with electric, water, dumps etc. It has 3 shower toilet blocks with washing machines etc. Its at about 40% occupancy at moment. Has a cheap bar with reasonable bar food. Beer also well priced. 5 minutes walk to Aldi and Lidl. 15 minutes walk to beach and prom at Santiago de la Ribera and about 15 minutes to San Javier town. Good cycling along prom at La Ribera. Some reviews state showers get cold.....but no sign of that. Even people who have been on here for months have never experienced that. Great for large outfits , some really big pitches. Showers also in with price. If you stay longer than 7 days its only 7 euros a night. If you have problems getting to the sight due to bollards preventing a left turn then carry on another 100 yds do a u turn and go back up. 30412378_10156350463212490_856338821518721024_o.jpg 30415617_10156350464007490_5825738750335909888_o.jpg 30571769_10156350462977490_5684432754339479552_o.jpg

Further update, used the bar/restaurant last night. They do a menu for 10 euros (main course, desert and a drink, beer or wine). Basic filling food ...good value. Beer 1.80 euro a pint.

Just looked at PF's pics - not the most inspiring/attractive site in the world but sometimes you get what you pay for.

The weather in Portugal earlier this year was also uninspiring/unattractive so I am tempted to consider Spain next year.

We stayed in a friend's house near the Mar Menor about10 years ago so have a little experience of the area. At least we can now pretend to be French if necessary.

The weather in Portugal next year will, possibly, be totally different. Can't go by this winter. We were in Portugal (north) some years ago in January and it was 20°+

It looks unattractive but it really isn't that bad. Its really busy in the winter but it has a massive area by reception where they allow people to park awaiting a space. I've heard that most people waiting get a space within 24 hours. Spoke to an English guy in a bar he told me that they still have plans for further development, a swimming pool, a better bar and some cosmetic work. Couple of pics of promenade
