A neighbour has given me a 4.5kg Calor gas bottle. Can you help or maybe point me in the right direction please?

What regulator do I need?

I have a quick release on the Cadac hose, is that an option on the regulator? Can I plug in the existing hose into the regulator instead of the BBQ outlet on the MoHo?

Cheers

Blue (butane)or red (propane), the regulators are different and a pigtail hose already on the Cadac?

As long as the Cadac is an LP model and not HP there will be no problem connecting to the correct regulator for your specific calor bottle ( Butane or Propane ).

Your external gas point on the van is already downstream of a regulator which is why a plain hose with an adaptor to the van point is fine.

If you have a gas bottle that plain hose needs to be fitted downstream of a regulator on the bottle. This will be one to fit either propane or butane depending on the bottle. They are different regulators and are not interchangeable. Do not try to connect the cadaver hose directly to a bottle.

Thanks everyone for your input. I am trying to connect my new Grillo to a gas bottle using the same hose I have for connecting to my moho. I think my question is relating to the regulator now. Is there a regulator that would facilitate a quick release like the moho output? So I can use the same hose.

It is sounding like I will need a new hose connected to a regulator. Sorry for not explaining it clearer.

What about a length of hose on the Cadac attached to a quick connector then two other hose ends. One a regulator on for a gas bottle, and the other hose has bullfinch (or other) connection on so can attach to van.

There are multiple quick release types. However, mostly people have either Bullfunch twist type or the inline quick release. If you have the latter, it is easy to get the supply end part and make a short pigtail to a regulator. Then the BBQ can just be plugged into that or the MH without swapping out regulators/fittings every time. If you have a bullfinch, you'd need to buy two sets of connectors. Then you can make up two pigtails, one to a regulator and one to a bullfinch plug.
