Hi which form do I need for my c1 been to post office today and they told me there are 2 one for HGV and one for the rest think he said D1 D2 so now totally confused

Why didn’t they give you one of each so you could clarify it by studying the small print. I don’t think he buys them in, just hands them out....... or not

I assume you are renewing your C1 entitlement. If so you need a D2 and D4. The D4 will be filled in by the Doctor who conducts your medical.

You also require an eye test, if you look up "D4Drivers" they they currently charging £55.00 and have branches all over....(this fee includes an eye test) If you ask your local doctor, if they are doing them in the current situation, you will get a shock at there fee's for this service.

Have a look on line at www.D4Drivers.co.uk they have a location list but you book at the main office for your choice of location.

One other point, the doctor will hand you back the completed form, for you to sign and post to DVLA, (envelope included in the pack), when you post your pack to DVLA send it recorded delivery, it has a new title now, sorry can't remember what it called, but you will know when its has been delivered.

Main Post Office or DVLA. They have a pack of D2 and D4 as standard

D4 may have them as well, but don't rely upon it.

Has to be a main PO, used to be called a Crown PO, don’t know if it still is.
You can also order a pack of D4 and D2 from DVLA online but don’t expect them to be quick, mine took about three weeks to arrive.
I believe that the D4 can be downloaded and printed but the D2 can’t.
I wouldn’t rely on D4Drivers having one and it’s a good idea to get yourself aquatinted with the rather long 8 page form before your appointment.
You need to check it carefully before you leave the doctor as any errors in completing the document may cause long delays and much agro.

Just been on dvla site and it says that they will send out a d46 pack 90 days before your 70th birthday ,if thats right then they are two weeks late sending mine !!!!

Don’t believe anything they say. They are going to be blaming Covid for everything for many years to come.

The D46 pack can't be used if you want to keep your C1

Applied online to DVLA for D2 and D4 received them in the post 5 days later.
